Hi Everyone

A few off us have been chatting (see thread "southside xmas party??') and have decided to get into the christmas spirit and have a bit of a mothers get together at Roma Street Parklands on the 6th of December at 10.30am. We will meet at the playground bbq area. A balloon tied to the pram will help identify you as a bub hub!
BBqs are available if anyone wants to do a sausage sizzle??

Trains run direct to Roma street for anyone wanting public transport -see www.romastreetparkland.qld.gov.au for more info

There will be a "santa's helper" who will hopefully have a sack of pressies to give the kids- This means if you would like your child to have a present, please bring a wrapped present labelled with their name (between a dollar value of $10-$20). This way it will be age and sex appropiate and no tantys and tears!

if you have a toddler let me know as ill organise a lolly scramble or something if we get enough of them!
Anyway its still early days in the organisation of it all so if anyone has any ideas to add to make it a super day please let us know!

Seriously thinking about coming would be gr8 to meet some of the B/Hub members!
Are any of the w/siders going by train? If so maybe we could meet up at a stn and go together!
Dont know brissy very well and absol' hate driving in the city too!!
Very nerve wrecking....
The balloons are a very good idea too!

Angela,

Sounds like a good idea to me.

I'll probably catch it from Wacol but we can meet up in a specific number carriage!
We'll have to look at the train time-table though so we end up on the same train, lol.

Looking forward to meeting more mums. Lewis will love a lolly scramble and I'll bring labelled presents for them. What else do I need to bring? Just a packed lunch?

wow! i havent checked bubhub for a few days and amazed at the response! this is great!

Hi "Auderysmum"- welcome to bub hub! i not longed joined either and have been finding this great! yes looks like there will be a range of ages in the kids, looks like there are a few people with older toddlers as well, so your little one will have some friends id say!
I think we are all bringing a packed lunch, but i might bring a christmas cake or something to share round, make it feel a bit more merry! so if you want to bring something to share im sure it wont go a miss!

Hi2kids- yes thanks for coffee the other day-good to meet up with a local mum! lt will be good to hook up again and maybe i wont be wrestling with an overtired Samara this time! yes just bring a packed lunch and yourselfs. c u then!

HI PiparMaru-thanks for the offer of help, i think everything is pretty much ok though, Ill bring the santa sack stuff, lollies for lolly scramble, a xmas cake (well something close to an xmas cake!)
Depending on how jolly everyone wants to get, i have a mp3player with some little speakers which i might be able to load some christmas carols onto , just to create the atmosphere!
but please feel welcome to bring or do anything which you think might make the picinic more fun or xmas feeling! I might need a helper with the santa sack if Samara plays up or something!

For all those coming by train from the west There are two trains we can catch:
1) gets us to Roma st at 10.01 and departs Ipswich at 9.10, Goodna at 9.27 and Oxley at 9.39
2) gets us to Roma st at 10.31 and departs Ipswich at 9.40, Goodna at 9.57 and Oxley at 10.09

Going on our past experiance of us standing in a lift for 5 min unaware that we hadn't moved, I thought it might be a good idea to catch the first one.

What does everyone think?

Ladies (and ESPECIALLY cluck cluck who has done so much to organise and inspire this get-together),

I really don't think I can make it today. Libby was non-stop vomiting last night, and we ended up at the hospital so she could be monitored for dehydration. :( She must have caught a little bug. Anyway, the upshot is that she's not in any danger and seems to have pulled through alright, and seems cheery enough, but I just want to keep a close eye on her, so am not sure if a big trip would be appropriate.
I'll see how we go - we may still make it if she looks to be okay. If not, everybody have a fantastic time, and we'll definitely be at the next meet.

Was a great day, but sooo hot! Xav and I jumped in the pool the minute we got home! I caught the wrong bus, but still got home alright, just took a bit longer than 20mins. Ended up getting off at Camira shops and walking the rest of the way home. Was so hot on the bus we had to get off, it's ridiculous that buses dont have aircon!
I hope Libby is recovering well Nickster, it's probably a good thing you didnt bring her today as it was just a tad warm out today!!!!

Thank you Claire aka Cluck Cluck for arranging the day! :D
