Congratulations on the news - that's wonderful!

I've attached a link here to a US website which contains the top 1000 names for the decade ... should give you some food for thought.

Names, names and more names! (http://www.ssa.gov/OACT/babynames/)

I had the name Eden picked out if my little one turned out to be a boy. Not too common, and not strange enough for other kids to tease him. I still love the name :)

I LOVE the name Blaise, its not very common and doesn't seem as strange as Blaze (sorry to anyone who's child is a Blaze... :( ). We had Jackson & Connor picked out as boys names, but they're becoming more common every day....

I've always liked Griffin but DP wouldn't have a bar of it

And he'd be "Griff" for short.

I also like Garrick (would LOVE to have a little boy to call "Gazza"). DH would not even consider either (good thing we had girls :D )

Cheers

Congratulations Jaydensmum!!!

I had some names picked out before I even met DH - but he didn't like them...

Layne and Harley

We also discussed Rick, Jack, Tyler and I LOVE Oliver.

A friend had a boy a couple of months ago and called him Stealth?!?! And a guy I worked with had a boy called Rocklyn - I thought that was quite nice and unusual (Rocky???)

LOL - my DH is car mad too!! He's a torana man, so I suggested Torana as a girls name, I think if you can forget that it's a car, it's actually a really beautiful name, I think it's Aboriginal for flying or something similar. He actually said no!!! I think he was worried that no one would believe him that he didn't pick it!!!

Hey, jaydensmum - at least he didn't want to use "Ford Festiva" or something like that, LOL :p

I know a couple who named their son 'Wilson', after the character the ball played in Tom Hanks' movie Castaway!!!!! There's a story to tell the grandkids.

I met this beautiful little boy once, curly dark hair, cute little glasses, honey brown skin. His name was Finn. I was always going to use it, but alas the last one was a girl and I had a name I already loved.

There are lots of fantastic, unusual names out there!

As a writer, I collect them - here are some for you to have a look at -

Adym Aaiden Bearon Beaudan Cabal
Chadwyk Chayden Colby Daddar Denzell
Ehsan Ekon Fynn Gabre Gildon Gyasi
Haleem Ilyas Jahazel Kulan Lex Mullion
Nazir Oto Pindan Samir Tamim Uzo
Vusimuzi Wirrin Xayveon Yacob Yuri
Zike Zuka

My male/female list got mixed up in the move - but I think that all of these are boys names - have heaps more if you want - some of them are quite strange! :) (No offence to anyone!)

Hi,

I love the Names Eadyn and Jetson.....but Max didn't look like any of them..oh well....

I went to school with a boy named Nivek (or kevin backwards we used to say) :)

I went to school with a Nivek too. Only this Nivek was a girl. She would have been named Kevin after her dad if she was a boy, but as she was a girl and they still wanted to do the Junior thing, so they called her Nivek. :)

I've also ALWAYS loved "Peregrine", its the name of one of the hobbits in LOTR and is also a small falcon. I would have only used it for a girl thou...

I have two boys & their names are Flynn & Darcy. We went with something different but not too uncommon & something you didn't have to spell out all the time, which I have done all my life.

Talk about car crazy people, there is a couple in the ford XR club that we belong to that named their son Ambrose!

I heard the most beautiful name the other day for a little boy - Cairo. I am not sure if that's how they have spelt it, but it was pronounced like the city. It just has a nice sound to it I think.

We on the other hand went with the traditional name Thomas, it was my DH's father's name sort of - Tommy.
