Xmas lights to show kids?

Hi ladies,

Does anyone know where there is some nice xmas lights up?.... we like to drive the kids around at xmas time nights to show them all the lovely lights....but cuz im new to the gc...i dunno any.... we live in tweed at the moment....but hoping to move burliegh ..robina kind of area.. So if anyone does no of any...or ppl that may be putting some up soon i'd love to know.... thx

here they usually advertise in teh local rag a couple of weeks prior to xmas where the best lights are. might pay to talk a look over the next few weeks.

Hi Kel,

I was just going to say the same thing.

Generally in your local paper they will run a competition each year for best christmas lights, then a couple of weeks out they publish the addresses or winners and all other entrants.

If you have a local radio station that you listen to they might have a listing as well one night (usually it's the talkback stations that do that).

Or ask around at playgroups, kinders, pre-schools etc. word of mouth is always a good way to go.

The Bulletin will publish a list of houses and businesses that have entered the local competition. Entry has just closed so it wont be long till they announce the winners. Just about every suburb has hundreds of houses that are lit up! Surfside buses also run tours of the best lit streets too. Now thats interesting - watching a huge bus try and navigate through small streets already crammed with cars - lol!

Hubby has just finished putting our front lights up, will see how they look tonight. Not flashy by any stretch of the imagination but festive all the same!

I think its lovely to drive around your local suburb to look at them all. Im up in Pacific Pines (near Movieworld), it is pretty hilly here, we go to the highest point to find the best lit houses and then drive down to them so see them close up!

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know that there are som fantastic xmas lights in Sydney Nolan Drive in Runaway Bay. Its just off Pine Ridge Road and there is house after house of xmas lights and some of them are absolutely amazing. Well worth a look.
