Hello - I have just finished a weekend Birth class using the technique "Calm Birth". I went into the birth classes a little scared and aprahensive about labour!! (don't we all??). The reason we all feel like this is because every story we here is negetive and usually involves the word horiffic pain most of the time. This class teaches you to use relaxation and calm breathing to think positive enabling you to have a pain free birth!!!! unbelievable!!! We watched 3 labour video's and not one of them was terrible actually the opposite!! It was the most magical thing I had ever witnessed!! Labour doesn't need to be something we fear but look forward to knowing that your body knows what to do by itself. The class teaches you to focus and trust in your body and your baby and to go along with it. Anyway here is the link if anyone is interested in it. I can't wait to welcome my baby into the world and not with fear but with joy and excitement.
Amy :)

Wow, that sounds amazing - it's great that women are getting so much more involved in managing and participating in their labours, and having a much more positive experience on such a special occasion - I can't think of a more momentous event.
Wishing you all the best on your upcoming birth - wishing you a pain free and beautiful labour!
Be sure to let us know how it goes afterwards! :)

Labour is, indeed, wonderful. For me, it was not painless, quite the opposite; but the intensity of those feelings are like nothing else on Earth, and I can't wait to dance with them again, surrender to them, breathe into them, sway with them, roar with them...it was the defining moment of my life, and the intensity of the sensations was equal to the power I was given and that has remained with me. :)
Whether your labour is painless or a maelstrom of intensity, it will be your journey, and it will be beautiful, if you step out of the way and let it be. How wonderful you're already learning how to surrender and let your body work, through breathing, relaxation, visualisation, and the many other natural techniques that are so perfect for comforting us during our labour and birth.
Wishing you a powerful, beautiful, orgasmic birthing experience. :D
