hi I have just joined and am enjoying reading the vast majority of topics and responses and peoples opinions. I have a question as it relates to my current pregnancy.
I am 9 weeks preg and when I was 5wks 6 days I went for an early ultrasound to reaffirm my dates which I knew anyway.
anyway the sonographer never said anything but when I went to my doctor she looked at the scan and said "ooh you might be having twins" and I said how can you tell and she showed me two views of the large sac and a smaller sac to the left, when the other two pics view was changed you could not see the other one? is this normal in twin pregnancies? also I have 3 girls and never had morning sickness with any of them, but with this one I am nauseaous all of the time but never have to vomit. please offer any advise you can on this topic thanks newbie.
P.S I am going for a follow up scan on the 24th to see how many there are. :p

Hello Pumpkin

Wow I can not believe that the person doing your scan never said anything..
if it was me I would be sightly peeved, after all you have Every right to know!!

Ive just got out my old film of my identical boys and there is one big sac and a slight line splitting the 2 which I figger is the 2 separte sacs.
When you go back for your follow up scan, ask what they are doing and what it is they are looking at, if it seems to bother them, tell them that you don't want to be the last to know..
Goodluck, hope I helped some what.

Hi Pumpkin,

Congratulations on the good news, i just gave birth to twin boys on the 31st Oct and it is such a wonderful experience.

I found out at 9 weeks i was having twins, when my OB did an internal scan she noticed two sacs, one on the left and one on the right. I am not sure why you were not told but thats where my sacs where positioned.

I didnt suffer morning sickness either but i did suffer sever nausea until the 12th week. I overcame it by eating water crackers and dry biscuits, also fruit salds worked as well. Also plenty of water. There were times sitting at my desk at work and feeling like throwing up and above worked.

How did your follow up scan go?
