Hi everyone
Just a question, we got a kitten from a vet practise yesterday and they said it was toilet trained. Belle goes to the litty when she in the same room as it but when she is lounge room she wont go. So she has pooed on our bean bag and cushions. What can i do to prevent this and train her? Could it be the food i have been feeding her?
Thanks everyone

I'd confine her to the same room as the litter tray if you can, for a few days. She will have been used to her tray, her food and herself in quite a confined space.
Apparently putting her food in the same room as the tray also helps them develop a sense of what is where.
If you can't confine her to the room where the tray is, then I'd periodically take her plonk her in her privvy until she gets the idea.
Hi!
Congratulations on your new baby!
I would definately confine her when you can.
Having another litter tray in the other area she spends most of her time will also help. Cats are usually pretty good and only go on the floor if they think there is no where else.
Also letting her walk around on her own will help her to know where she is. If she is carried everywhere she won't learn how to get back to her tray and food etc.
If you let it go, she will get into a habit, which will be very hard to break.
Also cleaning with an ammonia free cleaner will help get the smell away with out attracting her back to the same spot.
Hope this helps! :)
With all my cats, as soon as I have got them home I have done the following so they know, and havent had any problems.
I would take her to her litter tray every couple of hours. Put her in it, and just hold her paw and do a scratching motion in the litter so she knows this is where she has to go. It seems that she knows where to go though - maybe she is scared going all the way there by herself as she isnt used to the house.

i rang the vet about her today. They think its the change of food too. And that she is to lazy to go down the other end of house. God help me, Lazy DH and now a lazy cat!
