Well.. my babys just had to get rushed to the vet!

Projectile DIAREAH and vomiting! :(

He wanted to keep her in but I begged him to let me bring her home cos I couldnt leave her there alone.

She didnt have a temp which was good, but she was in alot of pain. he thinks a tummy bug. He did the parvo test but it was negative.

She had 3 needles :(:(
1. Anti Biotic
2. Stop her spewing
3. sedative for the pain

Shes in DH's lap atm sleeping but she seems better already!

I was so so worried I was going to loose her or something.

Vets are expensive! wouldnt even give me an account. I had to pay the $200 right there and then otherwise nothing could be done! Anything for my baby though!

If she doesnt stop ive gotta take her back and she will have to stay in so Im praying so hard she gets better!

Sorry just needed to get that off my chest :o

I hope your 'little one' feels better soon.
Vets are notorious for wanting payment up front. My mum's friend's dog was bitten by a snake and she rushed him to the vet (the vet she had been taking her animals to for over 10 years) and the Vet wanted more than $800 up front before he'd do anything - and with a snake bite, time is of the essence! They kept the dog there whilst she ran from ATM to ATM withdrawing money so the dog could get the needle!

:hugs: how scary!
First thing Monday I'd look for the local animal hospital, that's just mean of them treating you like that when you were worried about your pup! (And being responsible enough to take it to them knowing they'd charge lots).
We have something in Victoria called the "Lort Smith Animal Hospital" so if you can't find anything, maybe call them and ask if they know of a similar place where you are?

My poor pup spent a lot of time there when he first arrived- the stomach upset was never diagnosed as anything, so I sometimes wonder if it is the shock of a new place? Hope she is better soon! :fingerscrossed:

I remember when my doggy was a pup she got really sick, vomiting & diahrea she was in the vet for 5 days on a drip cause she couldnt keep anything down, apparently she had a form of parvo but luckily it wasnt bad enough to kill her but we did nearly lose her,i was so upset but so happy when i got to take her home.It was good though i only paid 300 and i was able to pay it off i have a great vet hes really nice.

ETA:im glad your puppy is getting better :fingerscrossed: he/she stays that way.

Could you imagine what an overnight stay would have cost?

I couldnt even BEGIN to imagine what overnight would have cost..

As much as I love her and would do anything.. I just dont have that kind of money to throw around!

Shes actually sitting up atm, eyes open. Still in pain tho cos unless shes curled in a ball shes crying :(

Guess who perked up :D .. at 1am.. hahaha

She slept for ages, and I set up a bed in the loungeroom with her just incase, and I had ALMOST dozed off.. and all off a sudden my hand got a little nip... and I opened my eyes and she was pouncing around wanting to play!

Man I almost cried! we even ran and woke daddy! ... then made daddy stay up with her while mummy got sleep

Hi,
so glad she is doing better, I am a vet nurse and it may sound harsh to worry about money when an animal is sick but many people say do whatever needs to be done then when it comes to payment they all of a sudden cant afford it, you will be suprised how many people expect to take there animal homew without paying a thing, at the vets i have worked at most have payment plans that if you leave your bank details they will let you psy it off and with good clients we are usually a bit lenient with it. Well I jope she is fully recovered shortly
