how often do you??

Hi there,
I'm just wondering how often you and your family take worming tablets? We had some about this time last year (well late Feb) and before that I don't remember probably a good couple of years.
So I'm curious how often other people take them... my mum used to get us to regularly have them like every six months or so but I'm a little unsure... I have a 2.5yo and a 13mo so also when do you start giving them to your kids? DS had his first lot with us just under a year ago.
and what do you use with young kids?

ETA: I'm just asking for the preventative side of taking them!

I have never taken worming tablets. I didn't think it was necessary unless you got them?? I may be wrong that's just what I thought. if you are wondering about young kids, ask at your pharmacy - the pharmacist should be able to help you.

I haven't taken them since I was a kid and my mum used to make us take them..... guess I have never really thought of it....

I only give them to my kids if they get symptoms, sometimes I think I am just quick to jump on it , but wont give it to them more then every three months....

Thats right :yes: Worming tablets do not prevent worms, you should only take/give them if there are symptoms.

umm...its been a while.... cause either ive been pg or bf... so i couldnt take them..but havent really needed to for ages...i know i used to as a kid... but havent much since.. :o

Never actually thought to give them to my family. I thought they only got rid of them, not prevent them.

My little one got them when he was about 3 so I did the whole family, I had the worst cramping from it!! It said on the box side effects were rare so of course I had them!!!

I was thinking about doing us all again before school starts. But if it says only to do it if you have them then I wont. It took me a while to catch on that DS#1 had them because he always had him hands down his pants but I noticed the white on his undies..then I knew! Poor baby scratched his butt like his life depended on it!

i give them to the family usually every 6 mths.
i do it cos DS always has his hands down his pants so i do it just in case i havent picked up on the signs and also because we have a cat and my mum has dogs that the play with. :thumbsup:
