Hi Everyone,
I just had a question. Im going to an outdoor event on the weekend (V8 supercars) and I have a 5wk old baby, who is bottlefeed. Whats the best way of taking her feeds (just water and seperate powder or made up) as the event goes all day, and there also won't be microwaves around, so howcan I heat it?
Sorry for the Q's but I don't know what to do!!! Thanks :o
I just take the tin with me everywhere I go and make up formula as I need it. If I am going somewhere where there is no fresh drinking water I buy a litre bottle from the supermarket and take that as well.
I used to take the powder in those little containers that you can get, but I got caught without enough once and that was it for me. I know it's extra baggage, but that's what strollers are for :D.
As far as heating, as long as the water is room temperature, I wouldn't be stressed about heating the bottle too much (I never do when we are out with our bub). If it worries you too much though, put the bottle of water in a warm sunny place until you need it (just be careful it doesn't get too warm).
We go to the car races alllll the time as my husband is a Ford devotee. I know that sometimes you can be stuck in traffic for ages afterwards and to be stuck in traffic with no formula left is not a good thing. It's such a long day. I am glad to see that you are not letting a bub stop you from doing anything though - that's so good to hear.
Good luck and enjoy yourself

I used to take bottles & powder seperate. I always gave ds room temp milk for occasions such as this, so he could't tell the differnce. I am a social butterfly so i am out all time!!
When he was little i would take extra bottles & formula just in case!!

My bub takes his at room temp now too, so I dont have to worry about heating when we go away and I agree I tend to take the whole tin with us just incase!
But if your bub is only five weeks old chances are she wont take her bottle at room temp, I know mine didnt at that age, so the thermos idea is a good plan for you. we have always taken bubs everywhere with us too, so he loves trips away now! Have fun at the V8's!!!!
I knew I would be out and about with my babies, so from the beginning I gave them their bottles at room temp so that they would be happy to take them in any situation.
Most of the time, if they are hungry they will be happy to take it.
I would take the water and formula seperately and make sure that you take a couple of bottles more than you expect to need, as often, they will need a "comfort feed" or two if they are somewhere noisy and unfamiliar!
