Hi,

It has happened a number of times that my dd's peapod has sprung a sudden short leak and then resumes normal functioning! This can happen when the nappy is not particularly wet. I think that when my dd does a wee some of it can almost shoot right out the side? Yesterday I landed up with a very wet lap. I don't know what to do about it.

Could it be the fault of the fleece? I try to be careful when stuffing the insert that it fits all the way to the edges. The peapod looks like it is fitting well around her thighs.

Is this common? Is this a peapod thing? Is it a pocket thing?

Thanks for your insights!

Hi Chant,

This happened to me every time I used the peapod, so I stopped using it. No matter how I stuffed it or what with, it leaked. Obviously a nappy that doesn't suit my bub.

Sorry I can't be much help!

Thanks! At least I don't feel like I'm the only one. I only own one, and I am using it as a cover over fitteds atm.

could it be that the legs are not tight enough, therefore wee just leaks out??

are you putting microfibre on top of the insert?? sometimes the inserts dont absorb fast enough (for the wee flow .. lol) .. and it has to go SOMEWHERE...

I always stuff mine with the hemp insert with a microfibre insert on top of the hemp, stuffed into the nappy. If that makes sense

Their inserts aren't preshrunk so they take a while to get up to absorbency and they shrink so much they don't touch the edges of the nappy. Mircrofibre plus insert should fix the situation. You can get cheap Microfibre cloths from Big W that are perfect for boosters, come in a packet of 6

I found a similar thing... guess it's not just me...
Was a bit confused about whether I needed the tri-fold taking up the whole width of the pocket - or not touching the sides and thicker where she wees. Neither seemed to make a difference... It did shrink a fair bit.
Having said that, my peapod got me through the early days of cloth when my stash was still too small

I also found that same thing happened to me when i had Pea Pods, even with a micro booster on top of the PP insert.

Glad to hear it wasn't just me but the thing you need to remember with modern cloth nappies is that much like disposable nappies some may not work on your child and other's will.
