Hi guys

I'm just wondering when you noticed eye contact and eye tracking happening with your newborn... With DD1 I remember it being pretty early on - in the first week or so... DD2 is 4 and a half weeks old, and we have nil, nada, nothing yet!! I'm sure everything is OK, but I can't get it out of my head that she's blind!! I think that thought is probably more my reaction to severe sleep deprivation than anything - but hey, us Mums will find things to worry about if there isn't anything!:o ... What have others experienced?

Cheers!

Don't worry it's normal, DS was still staring off into space well past 4 weeks. I can't remember when he started to focus better and maintain eye contact but he definitely wasn't at 4 weeks.
One week old with your DD is exceptionally early, that's definitely not the norm ;)

I just wanted to give you a :hugs: .. all mums find something to worry about (with Jack - it was his lungs - he was in the humidicrib for week one of his life... so I became a paranoid freak - watching his chest for hours... sigh)..

if you are worried - you could try using a tiny torch ??? (not IN bubs eyes obviously - but maybe aiming the light at her chin?? and then moving the light- ) - pediatrians use a light sometimes for tracking ??

just a thought - might help your worries :)
