Both DD and I have diarrhoea due to a virus and apparently it can last up to 10 days  and my appetite has gone. All I can manage is a piece of toast for brekky, lunch and dinner, along with water, but it goes straight through me.
Does anyone know if not eating much will affect my supply?
It doesn't seem to be a problem so far,as I have had DD at the boob more frequently to stop her from becoming dehydrated. However I'm only at day 3 of virus and DD has had it for a week,so feeding during the week hasn't been a problem, but if I continue not eating I'm worried it will affect supply.

It can do.

I'd probably speak to someone from the Breastfeeding association.

When I was lactating, and developed a nasty gastro, a pharmacist told me to try this:

- boil some white rice in plenty of water until cooked.

- Drain the rice, KEEPING THE WATER.

- After it cools a bit, drink the water from the rice, it is very nutritious. (sounds ikky, but gee it makes you feel better)

- After a while, take the rice, mix it with grated peeled apple, and a small sprinkling of sugar, and eat it. The apple contains pectin, which is commonly included in mixtures for the runs.

I found this to be a very helpful regimen, and it certainly made me feel much better.

Hi
I'm not an expert, but as long as you are keeping up the fluids I think you'll be OK. Your milk might not be quite the same, but I'm sure that you will be producing the same volume with all the essential nutrients that might even suit your poor little tike better right now.

If your worried, call the ABA, but I think you would be aware if there was any problem.

Cheers
