We had our second attempt at a night-time nappy last night - a BBH hemp, small hemp snap & bamboo fold-up thingy, with the BBH wool cover. (i know i should have used the Bamboo one - but she had it on during the day so i could see her cute bum running around!)

By this morning, she had leaked out the top of it. She is almost 2, and i think a heavy wetter, esp at night, plus she sleeps on her tummy. I have fold-up at the front to absorb as much as i can, but it seems to come out there anyway, just at the top of her waistband. The bottom of her PJ's were dry, it only came out the top. It was the same spot (just not as much) when she wore the bamboo with the wool cover. Does this sound like the cover is too short for her?? It is the Large one, but seems to only just cover the nappy. I am thinking that because it is so heavily padded in the front the rise is shorter? I hope my terminology is OK - I am not sure i am ready to take the L plates off yet! Mum is knitting me a soaker at the moment, so am i right to think that if we make sure it is a little longer, and comes up more over DD's belly button that we might avoid the top leaking prob?

Thanks!

yea the edging used to be wet by morning on ds's wool cover...Same as during the day cos the pul's sat right on top of the nappy IYKWIM? I use a soaker now at nights and no probs, and ive got new covers bigger ones lol

Maybe she needs a large wool wrap by the sounds of it. Aslo, did you lanolise the wool wrap ? this will help immensely with the absorbency.

the soaker should have better results, I love the BBBs but the wool covers aren't great, hey you can't have everything perfect all at once can ya?

Yeah I recommend a soaker at night. I lke high rise soakers esp for night with the big nappies and all that boosting. I also use a thicker ply of wool for night.

Yeah, I find the BBH wool wrap to be not very good. I have a medium and it's a VERY snug fit over bubbas nappies and I only use it during the day. I can use it at night in a pinch, but it;'s not as good as my $10 ebay soaker :p

I think you'll find woolen soakers work MUCH better!
