Post Baby Belly button blues......???

Ladies

This is an odd one ....

When I was pregnant I was HUGE I mean HUGE!!!! seriously where ever I would go I would get 2 standard questions 1: "when are you due" always immediately followed by a shocked look and "Really??? Just the one baby??"

I mean Im not a small lady (size 16) and I was carrying my 9lbs 11oz bubba and a HELL of alot of fluid! the doctors couldnt believe how much fluid I was carrying.

so now to my question my belly, as you can all understand, stretched right out to its capacity and beyond - my belly button didn't pop out but stretched out to a flat disc .... and now that Ive had my little baby and things are starting to get back to normal there is one thing that seems very odd my belly button is a very dark brown colour??? and some skin around it as well - its gross and has NEVER been like this before and didn't change color during the pregnancy or anything - and Im wondering why this has happened and has anyone else got an odd coloured belly button????? :(

With my first pg my belly button popped out but this time due to numerous key hole surgeries that I have had my BB is also flat this is probably because i basially dont have a belly button as such due to the key hole surgeries.

When I had key hole surgery to have my gallbladder removed 3mths after my DD was born when i came to the Dr asked me if my BB popped out while i was pregnant and i said 'yes' and he proceeded to tell me that when your pregnant if your BB pops out it means that you have hernia (sp?). So he removed mine. So i wouldnt worry too much that your BB hasnt popped out but as for the colour q? i would be getting it checked out just to be on the safe side. It could be nothing.

Don't worry my BB aslos went a dark brown colour as it was shrinking back and it is now a normal colour again. Not sure why it happens and I can't remember how long it took to look normal again but it will.

I figured it was the norm in some way ... like changes in pigmentation - but still just checking to see if any one else had it.

I'd forgotten about it until now, but my belly button did the same thing, and like rell's it faded away, like the linea nigra (line down the belly). Maybe it's to do with the same thing??

I think that's perfectly normal. I got a slight tan (naughty me) on my belly over summer before I had my bubs (i loved walking around on holiday in Byron Bay with my big belly hanging out!) and after I had bubs and the skin was shrinking my belly got darker and my belly button was this awful weird brown colour. I too was HUGE and people were asking me at 6 months "any day now heh?" and I just ended up nodding and rubbing my enourmous belly! it was hilarous waddling around at 8 + months pregnant and having people give me pitying looks...

anyway, yes, I too had big stretched belly button. But everything has (sort of) gotten back to normal again. and the strange dark brown belly button is now normal colour.

I also had linea negra, and that contributed to my very brown belly button post borth..!
