I'll admit it, this pregnancy has given me no tolerance for children at all these holidays!! It doesn't help that DH was off work for four months, and only just started back this week, so finances have been REALLY tight, or that the terrible two are still sorting out the rules of sibling-hood!

School books have arrived (I just purchased the book lists, really wasn't feeling up to searching out the best bargains this year!), uniforms, bags, socks all on layby (need feet for shoes, so that's next week's challenge), and now I'm just counting down!

How are you coping with the holidays? Are you counting down to school days again?

Yep, defiantely counting down.
I got some of the books last week. Still need shoes and a couple of new shirts.

When I did go and get the books though one lot of exercise books aren't available in the 96pg that is on my list. What a pain, now I have to search around and see if I can get them.

And I had to pay $27 for a dictionary. Had to have a particular brand. :banghead:

OMG, 13 days, 20 hours, 1 minute!! lmao..

I have 4 to go this year, so, with being 29 weeks preg as well, I cant wait for the rest!

Rambox, omg, 8 days?? what school do your kids go to, and lol, is there spots? lol..

Ours finished a week early, so we got 7 and a half weeks, arent we lucky..

This year, we dont have a book day, which is fantastic, hate the lining up, they just get books on the first day, woohoo..

Ive just got to get school shoes and new sandshoes, and Im set for this year! But, like you, studentmum, thats next weeks challenge!

Yes and no. I absolutely love the school holidays. I love not having to make and pack lunches, I love not having to chase two children around saying, "Where are your shoes? and "Quick, hop in the car". I love being able to stay in my pj's for as long as I want. I love not spending hours in the car (it's an hour round trip for us) every day. I love that our baby (1 yo) doesn't have to have his nap in the car. Being able to jump on bubhub at 7am and not think beyond 8am. :D
There is more but I'll list the things that I am looking forward to when they do go back.
Being able to go the shop or supermarket with just a baby. Having a relatively tidy house. Not having to break up fights and squabbles (which usually occur right outside the door when baby is sleeping). Having 'space' in my house. Going out to have a coffee with friends (non existent with two older children) and only having a baby.
We go back on the 29th of Jan and I have one going into class 3 and one going into class 1. The downside is the class 1 have 1/2 days for the first couple of weeks so there is more car trips.

Oh no ... so close! My dd goes back on the 30th and I still have to find some white sneakers for her! Every white sneaker I have found is either skate style or velcro which are both not allowed. I also have to mend the hem on both of her uniforms, get her hair cut and find her library bag!

She also finished a week early, so we have had 7 ½ weeks too - I have actually really enjoyed having her home, but she can't wait to go back.
