Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone had any experience with the Childcare brand of products as sold at Target. They currently have a white timber cot for $199 and change table for $99 which is about 30% off RRP. They look sturdy and decet enough and from my research all cots sold in retails stores have to meet the Aus standard. They are not as pretty as some we have looked at but they can get pretty pricey.

 My neice had a childcare brand cot and change table. Never had any problems and now being used for the next baby.
All cots have to meet the Australian safety standards otherwise they are illegal to sell.
30% is a good saving!

I have a target cot which I got for the same reason (price). My son is only three and a half months old but I've not had any probs at all and it ended up looking better then I expected. I even assebled it all by myself without any tantrums!!
 from me.

I have a cot and pram from this brand the only damage that has been caused is from Ds1 biting the side other than that they have been fine. The rail clip where the side slides up and down and it snapped but I think ds1 was really rough with the cot.The side wouldn't go down after this. DH fixed it though.

We have a childcare pram and it's gone through ALOT of rough treatment over the last 2 years. Never had a problem with it, not sure about the cots and change tables but i've always thought of childcare to be a pretty good brand.

I think childcare is a good brand. I have their changetable/bath combo and it's really strong. I just bought a BebeCare (Childcare) stroller a few days ago and it is great, there were 3 all the same price at Babies Galore and it was so much sturdier and had more padding than the other two.
I'd say their cots would be just as good. I'm not sure how much the cot is you want to buy but can I recommend GroYear cots? I bought mine for around $350 from Babies Galore and it is really sturdy and it has the added bonus of turning into a toddler bed so it will last for around 4 years. I looked at the Target cots when I was getting all my baby stuff and they weren't a patch on this one.

I have a childcare cot and its pretty sturdy. I've been using it for 15 months now and no complaints so far. Hopefully it will last for subsequent babies too!

I bought the harbour childcare cot and changetable in white, from target, for bub#3.
I thought the kmart ones looked great, but I couldnt get them in white, but once we put it together, it looked fab. I definately think the harbour looks nicer than the flinders (which is what our target had on display!)
Bub's only 4 mths old, so it hasnt had any rought treatment yet, but I love it. I think its gorgeous. Very modern looking, stable, looks great. The matching changetable is very sturdy (and soo handy, I didnt have one for bubs#1&2, I used our bed, ugh, bad for my back!!)
I got them when they were on sale too. Just make sure that you get the right mattress for it, I noticed that kmarts matressess were slightly smaller, so I also got the matress from Target.
The cot we had for our first two bubs, I bought from a baby store, and by the time our second was finished with it, we had to throw it out, it was falling apart!! This cot is definately stronger, I cannot see that happening!! :)
I have the port-a-cot and its been fantastic.
Handled alot of rough treatment too!
