Sprinkle bi-carb soda over the wee spots. Leave it for a while - about 10 minutes - then vacuum it up.

If you have light coloured carpet, splash a bit of vinegar over the bi-carb and give it a good scrub to get rid of any wee stains.

Happy cleaning!

ETA - to stop dogs weeing on the carpet, put a bit of lavender oil on a cotton ball and dab it on the carpet where they like to go.

We got a puppy a few months ago and he weed everywhere!!:banghead: I ended up hiring a rugdoctor from the supermarket and cleaned the carpets, they came up good as new. Took a bit of effort though!
Short term solution though Bicarb as the the above poster said.

Biozet laundry powder contains an enzyme that will remove the smell. Otherwise they will smell it again and think "oh this must be the toilet" and go there again.

Oh thank you all so much! There are some great ideas there! I will def try the Bicarb and Vinigar (rug doctor may be needed after Asi is fully toilet trained, so glad to hear they work!)

The washing powder, is that at Normal stores? , that sounds great for washing their bedding in too. such a great idea. Def do not want them thinking the lounge is their toilet!!!!

Yep Bio-Zet works. You get it in the supermarket, it's a concentrate laundry detergent. Mix in a spray bottle, spray onto carpet then soak up with cloth. As someone said previously, the enzymes break down the urine & remove the smell.

Don't use anything ammonia based as ammonia smells like urine to pets & makes things worse.

I also found some stuff call Urine Off which will actually help dissolve the stain and is really effective at getting rid of any residue - and is also good at sucking it all up through the underlay of the carpet.

I used to find the vinegar and bicarb was quite good at getting the smell out of the carpet, but it wouldn't get it up from the underlay so the smell eventually came back. Especially if it had been left for any amount of time.

You can get Urine Off through the internet or some vets have it.
