CHAOS is his daddies name! We got him off a friend, I would love to call him that but it would be a bit confusing when we took him to visit

I have found it easier to name pets by sticking to a theme.....
All of my pets name have been named after alcoholic beverages.
Siamese Fighter Fish No. 1. = Fruit Tingle
Guinea Pig No. 1 = JD (Officially Jack Daniels)
Border Collie (Female) = Tia (Officially Tia Maria)
Siamese Fighter No. 2. = Coopers (After Coopers Beer)
Guinea Pig No. 2 = Sam (Officially Sambuca)

I seem to find plenty of options to choose from.

I have a freind who names her pets after musicians/bands.

Goodluck!

he was born with the doc tail

Sorry, off topic..... but not possible to be born with the tail already docked:no: And this is illegal... for a good reason.

I had two danes called Atlas and Titan and my sisters in law both had rotties called Zen and Zeus. A rotty needs a good strong name.

My hubby says Caesar.

Or Brutus

He's always wanted a Rotty and since he'll never get one (I'm a lab fan!) he's humbly (well, maybe not so much!) offering it as a choice for your pup!

I do like Nitro as well though!

hehe I knew a dog called Boris and he was the biggest, slowest dope! It was so funny it was cute!
You could tap him on one ear from behind and it'd take him 2 mins to realise then he'd turn and look at you like he was saying "huh?"

Poor thing - he was old though!

Sorry, off topic..... but not possible to be born with the tail already docked:no: And this is illegal... for a good reason.I have been in close contact with my puppy since he was a few days old as the place where i got him from is just down the road and they are my friends, His father was born Doc tail because he is a Pure Bread Rotty My puppy was born doc tail i know this because he and 4 others are the only ones with the doc tail out of a litter of 10 there are also other features that have been bread into that particular breed that he does not have but other puppies from the same litter have,:shame: please dont call me a liar or crule cause thats the way he was born, if my friends had somehow doced his tail i would have not taken him i think it it crule and would not of let it happen and i would have known if it had been done because as i say i have seen him and held him since he was born in my mind there is no way his tail could have been doced and I didnt know

Some ppl might say you cant be born with 4 toes or no arm, it has to be chopped off but it does happen.

I was a little confused about dogs being born with docked tails, i have 2 boxers who arent docked and i have alot of people comment on how they look funny for Boxers....
I agree that this is a very cruel thing to do to dogs (as it is to lambs).
Snugelimudda...I also believe in breeding processes breeding out the tail, look at certin cat breeds which dont have tails.....
I'm glad you love your puppy Bones and Nitro are both very cute names....Enjoy

Great name choice.

Just another comment on docked tails.
My DH is a geneticist and he says(and relayed basically by moi) that unless you had two parents that were freaks of nature/had damaged genes that caused them to never grow a tail it's not possible to actually take out the tail growing gene so you have a tailless breed.
Even with these two damaged parents you still only have a small chance that it will come through in their offspring. Because it is an abnormality there would possibly be other physical faults/ailments as well.

They still dock them at birth/shortly thereafter.

I don't know anything about docking/ being born without tails so sorry if I sound silly, but why if they were going to dock the puppies would they only do some of the litter?..

PunkyDiva
20-01-2007, 00:56
No you don't sound silly and I have no answer either.

If they are docked I would imagine their would be scarring so can you check the puppy and the parents. If they did dock, I would report them as it is quite ******** and of no real purpose other then visual. I'm told it's because their tales break easily but doesn't really compare as a reason to getting fly blown like sheep.
Checkout local refuges for puppies, they are vaccinated, desexed, thorough health checks and in need of a good home.

If both parents truly did not have tails at birth then i would be getting the pup seriously checked out for any other abnormalities.
Sorry to be a bearer of bad news.
