Depends on the comp. I do ALOT of these and like i said, out of a monthly mag, about 10 entries, i win at least one prize each mag 9 months out of 10. They ask why you want the prize. If its a toy advertising its developmental qualities, say something like your child is needing help in that particular area and that toy looks perfect for them. Or if its a cd, tell them a 'special moment' you had with bub while you 1st heard that song (hey, worked for me lol).

I cant remember exactly what was in that hello babe bag but i didnt have to pay postage.

Just wanted to let you know some of the samples I have recieved.

Avent - shower product sachets, via cup with no.2 teat (very generous)
Gaia - baby bath products - 4 sachets
Huggies - Shea bath sachets, 1 swim nappy and 1 pull ups nappy (all separately)
Heinz - product info brochures, baby and toddler recipe book (very good)

Can't remember any more at the moment, but all the companies have been very generous. Will post more when I remember. :D

Ok i have just recieved some samples too that i requested last Friday so far i have recieved:
* Johnson & Johnson, sachets of all baby products bath wash and moisturiser, Breast pads, small bottle of sorbolene and small packet of baby wipes aswell as a baby massage booklet and some information.
* Happy Baby, i recieived a 0-3 months white dummy
* Lansinoh, i recieved some information and a couple of small samples of there nipple cream.
*Heinz, some great info and a baby to toddler recipe book!

Thats all that has come so far but i am expecting more to come!!!

I have emailed avent twice about samples, i even told them i had purchased their breast pump & sterilizer(which i really did). Nope nothing, maybe they randomly send out samples.
I find the sample bags that you get free when you sign up to the coles baby club are the best. Next edition is due out in may, so if you sign up before then you will get sent a magazine with a coupon in it to redeem your samples bag. Also have discount coupons in the magazine and competitions. Worth getting.
Does anyone know of any other companys that give out samples. I've done all that are listed.
Now i'm going to try:

Hi, Just to let all know i emailed the companies originally posted in thread asking if they had any baby samples available. During last week and this week i have recieved some great samples. J and J sent lil bottle of baby cream and about 8 sachets of different products. Today recieved from pigeon, baby wipes 10pack, pigeon baby shampoo and pigeon liquid cleanser for bottles etc. Huggies sent new baby wash samples, Mei Mei sent sachets of baby bath, baby lotion. Cherub rubs sent skin soothe. And avado organics sent some great sachets of their products also, about 8 sachets from them.
So is a great way of being able to try out some products on bub. Good luck to everyone else.:yelclap:

free washing powder from ecostore. its enough for two washes and i got mine a few days after asking and it is really good. i think it cost around $7 for a 1.5kg box, im not sure on prices but u get about 25 washes from a box so it may be worth it. im not sure, but i washed my bubs things in it and it did a nice job :thumbsup:

happy baby sent me a dummy, which was great to recieve....not that i am sure if i will use a dummy but anyway...and some glossy brochures and a list of other things they make

gaia sent me some sample sachets of shampoo and baby wash etc - they look really good - and I have heard they are the best if bub is allergic to other brand

Today I went to the post box and what did I find?! :

Johnson's baby sent me a great whopper of a package,- it contained mini sorbolene cream, soothing naturals bath wash & soothing naturals nourishing lotion, ultraform nursing pads (2 pack), 24 hour moisture lotion, simply soft body wash, top-to-toe bath, a nice letter wishing me all the best etc...and some brochures etc...

i have something to say, with sugglers i applied for free samples back in septemeber time i got a reply back saying "we dont do samples go buy a box" i never worried about them but the other day i went to the mail box to see i got a parcal from them opened it and it had a free nappy i was amazed maybe they kept all details incase they did send them out to people i was well suprised. Don't know if any of you are interested in this but.. There is a company that sends people out to your home and you have a party (like a tupperware party or similar) and they give you free samples. The thing is (and this is the best part!) it doesn't cost you a thing, and the people that do these demonstrations aren't selling you anything - they just explain the products and give you free samples!! There is no pressure to buy anything - because there isn't anything to buy! Woohoo! Great excuse to have some friends around. I'm pretty sure that the person who has the demonstration at there house gets another free gift as well. I went to one a couple of months ago, I think it's called PPs or Word of Mouth marketing or something like that. (It's all from memory - and I still have a really bad case of baby brain!) I know what you are talking about my sister went to one up in Melbourne, 2 weeks ago, didn't tell me anything about it until afterwards, I've booked on (not for another 3 months because of how busy they are), but I did manage to get a big bag of products and samples, including cheese, toilet paper, nappies, baby food, a new type of chocolate(waas really yummy, forgotten what its called but will know it from a picture), health smart mag,a new flavour of chips (didn't like them) and bits and pieces.
You only need a few friends and everyone gets a bag to take home and the host get HEAPS more.
And all they expect of you that you might end up buying the product in the shops when its avaliable.

How strange maybe i didn't get them because I said I was pregnant now rather than having toddlers. Nestle and ClubNutrica both said they couldn't send the samples becuase they support breastfeeding. Herron and Nivea said it was due to demand. This has only been in the last week or so.
Guess it just depends on the time you ask.

:wave: I was one of the original posters of this thread way back in 2007 when it started.
Pigeon from memory was by far one of the best samples I recieved.
As was J&J, Avent and Nicepak.

I live in NSW and received the Coles Sample bag, the mag also has great competitions.
Do they still do the Bounty Bags? These use to be free sample bags packed with goodies you could collect from the hospital, chemists or Target I think from memory. There was a pre-baby one, a newborn and then a toddler one.

I think the main problem with samples now is so many people have caught on and companies just cannot keep up with demand and usually just send brochures.
I know before DS was born companies were very generous, Avent for example sent me dummies, creams etcs. And most parcels were so big they were to big for my letter box.:)

I guess there is no harm in trying though.

Both Avebt & NUK said they don't send samples but I could purchase things from their website. I don't mind paying for the samples if they are worth it, I live in a remote location & this is my first bub so it is really hard to know what is best & I have limited access to town - I don't want to go and start buying things online if they are a waste of money.

Google bounty bags and see where ur nearest stockist is cause they are helpful. Snugglers send nappy samples as do babylove and maybe huggies. hope this helps.

pigeon- i got a cute tiny little sample bottle of baby shampoo and a sanitizer for baby toys, also got breats pads and boruchures, and baby wipes
palmers- sent me out 3 sachets of creams etc and a brouchure.

but even if i dont recieve more stuff from other companys i am happy i got these few things.

Both Avebt & NUK said they don't send samples but I could purchase things from their website. I don't mind paying for the samples if they are worth it, I live in a remote location & this is my first bub so it is really hard to know what is best & I have limited access to town - I don't want to go and start buying things online if they are a waste of money.

Any suggestions??

Also has anyone had any luck with the website asknanadaphne? they have a baby starter kit which is full of samples (or so it claims to be) but I can't seem to fill out the shipping details as the area is blank, therefore I can't go any further????

when i emailed avent they said they dont do samples, i then purchased some bottles, emailed them again just to say that i was happy with their products and i got a parcel a few days later with a bottle, dummy, some breastpads and a heap of pamphlets :)

You may like to try hello babe they have a sample bag and another you can pay $29.95 for but be aware, I ordered the free bag (which costs $9.95 postage from memory) & at the same time paid for the other new mum bag & only reveived one, I did email them to tell them but heard nothing back!

I sent away for the asknanadaphne baby starter kit which was supposed to be free but was $15.00 for postage & $15.00 for the bag + tax on top of that & the link took me to hello babe so I think I may be getting a duplicate of the original hello babe stuff I got (still waiting for it to come)

Mums & Bubs have acouple of sample bags but be aware they are full of brochures & really I found a waste of time. I did find the Bounty bags helpful, I'm still to have my baby but got the second one & low & behold there are condoms in there?? I did find the second one has far more stuff in them than the first, not sure about the third though.

I have sent away to all the links provided & received some really good samples but I htink I have now pretty much exhausted all the links, it's addictive once you start but I do have to admit our overseas counterparts do receive more than we do.

BTW - in the first bounty bag there is a coupon from bub hub to receive a free show bag which you have to take into the store to claim, I don't live in the southern states so I emailed & asked if they were happy to send one to me (I did explain that I was happy to pay postage) they asked me to send the coupon to them & they would contact me for the $12.00 postage payment.

yeh pigeon sent me to as i said before, was strange but awesome, my favourite so far would have to be the avent, only cause i got a cute lil dummy. i have used up all the emails as i can for baby stuff, i cant think of anymore to email lol
it was good while it lasted though :)
i sent into mam baby and said i bought some bottles and explained how they were good and stuff, but havent gotten a reply. they are great bottles though so hopefully i get some in the mail :)



i emailed them the other day saying that i bought a pack of bottles and blah blah blah and they replied and said thankyou for the feedback so hopefully i get something :)

SWISSE- pregnancy vitamins ( 10 tablets)
HUGGIES- dry nights for boys

Just thought I'd let you guys know that yesterday I got "rejection" emails (no samples) from: cherub rubs, nuk, hello babe (please pay $15 postage for sample bag), playgro and grobag/bambini pronti. :hissy: Toys R Us baby registry also did not give me a showbag.

Avent and Pidgeon replied that they would gladly send me some samples. The baby bunting sample bag (redeeemable with voucher from bounty bag 1) always has 1 awesome item in it (last time was organic singlet valued $20, now a cuddly blanket valued at bout same). :yelclap:

Most of it I did by using the websites "contact us" part.. Avent said they would send me a dummy, Pidgeon sent a few little samples, Johnsons sent a few little samples, Huggies hotmilk knickers is still running... Haven't really received much as yet
