Can I pick the bubhub family for some ideas on lolly bag fillers?!!
I have a small fun size choccie, a couple of lolly snakes, then thought of something else for adults, and something for the kids...
This is for oscar's first birthday party this Saturday.....I'm so excited!!!!
Thanks in advance for any ideas thrown my way!!

Hi oscarsmilkbar,
I don't know if you'll have time to do it, but I just thought of something. I made up invites (copying jane&scarlett's idea) - laminated with a magnet on the back.
Could you possibly do a little momento for your guests if you're handy in that sort of way - maybe laminate a photo of Oscar, stick a magnet on the back, with some appropriate wording eg. "Oscar, turning one today (insert date)"?
Apart from that, your idea sounds lovely so far....
A little toy is always a treat to.
At the supermarkets you can buy cheap packets of little toys e.g. yoyo's etc and put one in each, they are also good later on for pass the parcel prizes.
Balloons, lollipops, jelly beans, liquorice allsorts, maybe liquor(sp?) choccies for the adults?
have fun, (sounds like you already are!)

Hi Nickster!
I like that idea!
I'm going to do that for the thank you cards to send after his party...
do you know where I can buy magnets?
I just thought of another idea...
For the adult bags I'm now thinking of this:
I x choccie
2 x lolly snakes
1 x "shooter" ( shooter is a shot - we have about 100 pre made packaged shots like cowboys, slippery nipples, QF's etc, from DF's previous job in a box in the cupboard!!....
1 x $1 coin attached to a note, with each note having a different wish
for example: Mummy and Daddy didn't get me a ferrari, so can you please make a wish for me.
There is a wishing well at balmoral beach where the picnic will be held on Saturday so we'll draw a map on the back of the wish for the guests to do so!!
I think that sounds OK doesn't it??
but stuck with bubs/kids bags.....

I bought magnets from Lincraft - it was a pack with 2 large sheets that you simply cut out the size you need, peel of the sticker, and voila! Couldn't be easier - and only cost $5! Also try Spotlight etc...
If you have any spare shooters, I know somewhere you can send them!!! he he!!
Hmm.. not sure what else to suggest with the kid's bags...I always get inspiration from cruising the above stores and the Crazy Clark's/Warehouse too. Maybe do a google search and see what you can find?
Party shops always sell cute little trinkets / toys and they are cheap as...
In Samuels party bags we had plastic bangles and rings for the girls and whistles and spinning tops for the boys, plus each child had a helium balloon with a weight at the end (you can get the weights at party shops too about .25c each..) the kids had more fum with their balloons than anything else :)
Your adult bags sound awesome

For my daughters 1st Birthday we put in a little bubble blower in each bag. They were little plastic bottles that had the thing to blow the bubble through on the underside of the lid. I got them from Woolworths, I think it was $6 for a pack of 24. We also had a little toy appropriate for the age of the child, eg: older girls got a cheap lip gloss, boys got a yo-yo, little girls got purses & bangles. It was hard for the young babies, they got a spoon.

For DS 1st B'day I did the same thing lolly bags for the kids and adults- I did the cowboy shots for the adults LOL
For the kiddie ones we had alot of younger kids (bubs under 2)coming so I put in:
LCM rice bubble bar
cheese sticks
fruit sticks
a small packet of the natural confectionary companies dinosaur lollies
a milky way mini
Also about the momento Rabbit photo can make up some lovely postcard type pics with a pic of bub and a note that says "Look whos a year older!Happy Birthday" you can also add a personal message. There pretty cheap to I think 60c a postcard/photo.
We did them for O and everybody loved them!
Have FUN!!!!!!

I saw in Kmart today that you can get mini playdoughs for party bags I think there is about 8 or 10 in a pack for $10. Just look in the toy section where the playdough is!!
I made a mental note for ds next b'day!! :p

What great ideas!!
Although I remember a while back when dd was in kinder. One of the mums took a cake and made lolly bags for all the kids. Not one of the other mums would take a lolly bag because there were too many lollies????? WTF!
Anyway, I helped her eat them so she didn't feel too bad......

Thats a horrible thing to do, how nasty. That poor mum went to all that effort and those RUDE mums just snubbed her
When I did lolly bags for DS's day care friends I made sure I didnt put any "Junk" in them becoz they are kids under two and some kids might have allergies? who knows but even if the parents didnt want their children to eat the stuff I had put in them I would still expect them to take one just out of common curtesy!
Makes me mad when people are hurtful and nasty!
I printed out wrappers with 'Eloise's 1st Birthday Chocolate' and a photo and wrapped them around Cadbury Furry Friends chocolates for my lolly bags. I also used the little organza drawstring bags that you can get at craft shops or $2 shops.

my DH calls his speedos his 'lolly bags' . so please be careful what you put in them.......
You can buy A4 magnetic paper from Crazy Clarkes for about $5 for 8 sheets, that way you can just put it in your printer & print photos strait out onto it.
DD just had her party about a week ago & her loot bags had:
*little tub of playdough - from spotlight comes in pack of 4 for $2
*plastic frog that jumps when you press down the back - spotlight 29c each
* Kinder bonbon (choccy)
*temporary tatoo
* little thing of bubbles - from Crazy clarkes 24 little bottles for $3.99
I gave out the loot bags befor I did the pinata so the kids could put the lollies from that in their bag.

if your looking for something to FILL a lolly bag buy a packet of 12 little packets of chips (ones with cheezels, twisties ect, are good for little kids). that way the bag looks fuller. then i usually put in a choc, a lollypop or little packet of lollies (or both) and a toy and a party blower or balloon. i have used the playdough in them at my daughters last birthday they were a big hit. you can also use the bubbles as an activity at the party it keeps kids and adults amused.

at the till of cotton on kids they have some really cute things for a round about 2 or 3 bucks each...things that can be kept...and lovely bubble bath in shape of fish, octopus, and zebra I think 3 for 5 bucks and those wooden things that you pop your finger in base and they jiggle about..and wooden letters for 1.95 each...praps yo could put an appropriate letter in each bag...if not too many kids...something that will keep and can go up in bedroom or on door...
I agree with whoever said about not putting too much junk in them...only as so many people dont like their kids eating e number's these days...though admittedly I did a pinata recently and have to admit it was totally full of redskins etc...but in the lolly bag (was for a girl though) I put stickers, lip gloss, bubble bath and fluffy fairy wand thing...Matilda got one the other day at a 1st birthday and the mummy so sweet had put in a bib, a bunny rug, a jar of puree, and a key rattle oh a
...nd some smarties for me! ha ha
all depends I guess on how many kiddlywinks you have to do bags for...but the 2 buck shop and red dot have gr8 stuff! I got finger puppets the other day for 3 bucks for 5 animals - how about a finger puppet in each bag??

I have done so many different things...the older they get...the more you can do at minimum cost
The most basic ones I've made up consist of:
Milky way
about 4 jube lollies or the little packets from the confectionary company
a lollipop
balloon
stickers (are always a hit no matter what age)
small bouncy ball for boys and a bracelet for girls
those sticky frogs
but I realise for a first birthday...one has to be careful of the small toys...
Bubble blowers are always a hit at this age (as mentioned)
our little treasures

For ds birthday we got little toys for kids from ebay under party favours.
For all bubbas we gave
1 can baby food fruit salad
2 teething rusks
1 rubber duck for the bath..
They were a hit with all the mums with bubs, alot were shocked as the bub always misses out??!!!
we only do toys- or little treasures
i think they do get way too much lollies anyway :)
cool keyrings, little fairies, little special things- from 2 dollars shops, are usually GREAT - and- they last longer, and remind them of the lovely time (hopefully  ) they had.
but thats just me....:)
