Hey everyone

This is just a quick heads up for you all. I moderate on another internet forum and we've had our attention drawn to a user named 'kaneweber' who has been joining random internet forums recently.

This person doesn't post on the forums but will select random forum users and send them malicious Personal Messages which either contain a malicious message or a malicious link to a site which will infect your PC with a virus. The PM will be titled 'New Year' or something similar - sometimes the titles will have relgious references in them

The advice being given is that if this user joins and sends a message to you, do not under any circumstances open it, delete it and inform the mods/admins of the incident.

Just to let folks know - hope it was ok for me to post this

Lots of love from
Palma

Hi Palma
Yes thanks so much for the heads up about that. I guess like not returning missed calls from numbers you don't recognise, don't click an any link sent to you by an unknown person. And yes, please PM a mod about it, because we can only take action once we know about it.

Cheers
