Oh I don;t even know wher to begin. I am feeling so upset and frustrated at the moment.

I went to the hospital yesterday to have my scan and blood tests to check how the FSH is working. I am due to go in for egg collection on Tuesday 16th.

Anyway I get a call from the clinic yesterday afternoon to tell me that the eggs arn't going to be ready and I will have the egg collection later in the week.

My frustration lies in the fact that I was told the 16th Jan so have organised baby sitters for the kids and my DH has the day off work to take me to the hospital.

Also on Thursday I started a new career, I say career as it is a dream job and they have made it part-time until the kids are at school, then I will take over from the manager. If the collection is later in the week I will not be abe to do it as I am working and it is the busiest week of the year that is why I started this week to help get ready for next week.

I have to go back Monday morning for more blood tests and scan so I will know more then.

My folicles are ranging from 12-6 in size. What size do they need to be? How much do they grow everyday?

I am just upset as I am so looking forward to this and now it is all about to change. I know the hormones I am on are playing a part in how I am feeling too.

I'm so sorry that things haven't gone to plan.

What you are doing is such a wonderful and generous thing and bound to make someone who is desparately wanting a child very happy as they will have a brand new opportunity.

Unfortunately, how each person responds to the drugs is not the same. Hence, I am a little surprised that the clinic gave you such an exact date for you egg collection day.

:fingerscrossed: :fingerscrossed: That your new employer and your dh's employer will be understanding of your situation and that you will be able to resolve this with a happy outcome for you.

Hang on in there.

Sending many cyber hugs your way.:hugs: :hugs:

Diana

Hi

Follies need to be 18 upwards, grow about 2mm a day and they try to aim for most of them being about the same size to get the best ones and tend not to worry about the immature or over-mature ones so is why they have extended the date.

What a shame the clinic wasn't more careful to make sure you understood that any date is an estimate based on stimming for x number of days - some women go under, some go over but most only need the time allocated.

I hope you can save the dream job somehow - if your children were sick or there was a family emergency etc they would hopefully be understanding - these things happen.

Hang in there - part of the journey and very annoying I know having everything up in the air - but wow, what a thing to do for someone hey! It's only through donating that I got a tiny tiny glimpse at what our IVF friends have to go through to get a baby - sucks mightily.

Hope it all works out OK. You should only need one day off for EPU and probably the next day to recover although some women go straight back to work and are fine.
