my dd gets constipation on s-26 and chucks up on s-26 gold. i havent tried any other formula as yet as theres so many.
ive been mixing the two formulas for about a month now, my dd doesnt get constipation anymore and she doesnt chuck up much anymore either.

Dear Babyfan85,

As far I am aware, mixing formulas isn’t recommended, unless a specific mixture has been suggested by a health professional.

You may want to phone Wyeth Nutrition (information and careline: 1800 552 229) who make the s26 formulas, to specifically ask about mixing their two formulas. They are available during business hours to answer parents’ questions.

Have you talked to a CHN or doctor to determine whether the formulas are suspected of causing problems, or whether your daughter was unwell for a period? Is it possible that your daughter happened to get over a tummy bug at the same time you first tried mixing formulas? I’m not clear as to the timeframes that you tried the formulas or that your bub was unwell.

The particular brand of formula may also just not suit your bub. I would talk to your CHN or doctor about your situation before trying another formula type – there are so many options available that it would be worth trying to first narrow down what aspects of the formula may be causing problems for your daughter, so that you can try a suitable alternative.
