View Full Version : Why am I so emotional?
Before I had kids, nothing really made me cry, but now..OMG I cry over anything! Even cartoons that have something sad in them!!! It doesn't have to be sad though..it can be something really happy, and don't even get me started when it comes to me watching my kids achieve things. It's embarrassing! I've noticed my mum is the same...she gets all teary at things is fights back bawling too! Last yr, I was pregnant with #4 when Steve Irwin and Peter Brock died...I cried a river!!!! I was soo glad no-one was around when the funerals where on tv!
I don't like taking the kids to the movies...I even cried watching Cars  I hate walking out into the light all redeyed from tears!!
What's wrong with me???? Is anyone else like this too?

I think it's just hormonal - it seems to take quite a while for my hormones to normalise after having a child.
I find naturopaths or homeopaths good for this kind of thing, they can even advise you on your diet and perhaps help with some safe and natural remedies to take to normalise your hormone levels. You'll probably be surprised at how well it works!
It will probably just pass eventually on it's own, but if you're bothered by it then maybe see if some friends or family members can recommend a good naturopath in your area?
It's definitely annoying isn't it? I remember blubbering sooo badly at an episode of RPA one day and it took me a couple of hours to get over it!

My MIL is like this and it's sooo awkward.
She burst into tears and had to walk outside to calm down at my DD's school concert. Everyone was just looking at each other going "WTF????"
But I definitely think yours is due to having a new baby, and three other kids.
You should get screened for PND just to be sure :hugs:

xaviersmummy...Noooo...definatley not pregger's..hehehe,,I finally worked out how babies were made
FOURtunate..Yeah, I've had PND before and pretty much think I have it again, I haven't done anything about this time because last time I was basically chucked on some tablets and told I was stuck in a rutt. I'm not very good with talking about things because I come across as alltogether, when I'm definatley not, I just don't know how to get it out
I hope I get out of this crying though...even when I try to explain something to the kids that they've seen on the news or tv..whether it be good or bad and I start tearing up and I have to stop talking...arrghhhhhh!
caramella..Thanks for your tip on naturopaths and homeopaths, I'm going to google them and see what I can find :)
Need to fix this before I shame my kids out at their school concerts...LOL

LMAO I was talking about this with a girlfriend on the phone today! She was talking about how shes really emotional, and I said Im the same, even an add with sad music will set off the waterworks for me! Then i said, just talking about emotional stuff is getting me emotional, I have tears in my eyes!! She said SAME HERE we coudlnt stop laughing n crying...
pretty silly.... i dont know y, but im the same, and as far as i know, its quite normal!
i look back and laugh at all my funny hormonal/emotional moments, one time i was opening a bag of cornflour and it went all over my kitchen floor, it was the last straw to a bad day, i just sat on the floor and cried my eyes out. hubby was like what r u doing...
