ok we have a fisherprice convertable car seat that ds2 is using. my question is, well ds2 is a chubba bubba. we had to take the insert out so he could still fit in the rearward facing . my concern is he will be too short for forward facing when he reaches 8-9kg (the way he puts on weight wont be that far off lol) atm he seems quite content with his car seat i guess coz he can stare at ds1. what did everyone else do? i will be waiting for him to be able to sit up well etc, im just worried about height

I was under the impression that it depends on what they reach first.....the 8-9kg, or the height (can't remember what it is). So if he reaches the weight limit before the height, it doesn't matter.

(Does that make sense, I'm getting myself confused, lol.)

go and check the manual. alot of newer car seats bub can stay rear facing to 12 kilos, so even if he is short he can stay facing rear for a bit longer.

That is a good question... It usually says which ever is reached first, the weight, the height or the age (although IMO, age has nothing to do with it).

I would think that it would be ok to leave him until the length is reached - as then they dont pysically fit in the seat - and the seat is no longer doing its job.

Maybe contact a fitting station - or the fisher price and ask..
