Hi Pinky, my son is 10 weeks old and i breastfeed during the day and formula feed at night, however during the day after i feed my son he vomits up quite a bit of breastmilk after every feed. If i give him formela during the day if i think he has vomited to much he keeps the formula down:confused: is it possible my breastmilk could be going off?

Hi Firstbub
Im not sure why you are bottle feeding at night but the vomiting could be related to the formula rather than your breastmilk -breastmilk NEVER goes off!
Babies can though have reactions to formula and it does sit in the gut for a while longer as it's more difficult to digest.
The vomiting may simply be due to a fast milk flow from your breasts - try holding baby more upright as you feed and after feeds.
It would be wise to get your baby checked by a Dr if you are worried about vomiting - some babies are simply 'happy vomiters' and others may vomit due to reflux -again keeping baby upright after a feed will help this.
It also sounds as though you dont have much information about breastfeeding -if you join the Australian Breastfeeding Association before the end of February, you will get a free book on breastfeeding. They also have great little booklets on topics such as increasing your supply - this could help you totally breastfeed if you want to.
