But i made this thread for everyone to show off their wedding dresses, because i personally LOVE looking at wedding dresses.

I designed my dress & had it made. The pattern on the front & train matched the pattern on the veil but you cant really see it in any of these pics.

It actually wasn't my 'dream' dress. I had to buy a new dress off the rack three days before our wedding as when I went to pick my $4000 dress up from a prestigious Sydney boutique, it had been worn and was dirty:eek: They sent it to be drycleaned and it still wasn't right. All the crystals were falling off the bodice etc etc. I was devastated! Luckily they finally refunded my money after my mum went to the Dept Fair Trading and my brother in law rang - he is a lawyer. I found out months later that a student of mine's mum was a dressmaker there are she told me that it was not unusual for this company to hire out the dresses that were hand made for customers and use them at Fashion parades!

There are some gorgeous brides out there...

This is the first dress I tried on and fell in love.. Went on to try about 6 others and went back to this one... It was funny because I went into the shop with a total different dress in mind... Something plain and off the shoulders... The sales lady suggested I try different styles and got me this one...

Here's a pic of my dress that I wore when I tied the knot back in 2003.

It is a simplier version of a dress I fell in love with. Problem was that dress cost $1600 and had a hoop skirt underneath. I wanted something cheaper and more suited to a garden wedding...so in the end this cost me $250. It also has a long hand beaded shawl that is not shown in the picture.

Wow, i love all the photos.. I love looking at wedding dresses .. its a shame we only get to wear them once! Well not that I want to get married again, but I just loved getting dressed up..
I loved my dress, i have it all packaged up just incese dd ever wants it :-) it was a vera wang dress that I spent way to much money on thinking back hehe, but I just fell in love with it at first sight. It was very plain from the front but had a mauve sash and lots of detailing at the back including handpainted angels on the sash (probably cant see properly on the pictures)

My brother and SIL to be are getting married in October , I cant wait, they are haing a beach wedding.. I love the sext beach wedding dresses too!

Thanks, I loved it too. Yes I had it made at a place called Rapsimo in Adelaide. They have been around for ages and are fantastic:thumbsup: . I saw a pic of a dress with a similar bodice and changed it a bit and then the designer had the idea for the flouncy train. I love pretty flouncy things so I was really happy with the end result:)

I feel embarrased to share my pics. I definately didn't have the wedding i dreamed of, but after DH's accident all we wanted to do was get pregnant and get married. So my first pics are when we got married when i was 7 months pregnant, the next photos are of our 'renewal of vows' and Joshy's naming day.

We had a great day both times we celebrated our wedding, it's just a shame DH will never really remember it. :(

I love that pic, PN. I remember seeing it in another post ages ago.
We did our entire wedding for about $3000. I am so glad we didn't spend any more. My SIL and my brother were married just after we were (1995) and her parents offered her the wedding or the money. She chose the wedding and is now $20,000 poorer. Although it WAS a fantastic wedding. In fact, I'll post some pics as I was a bridesmaid.

I have to share some of my brother and SIL's wedding. My SIL and I have been friends for over 20 years and as teens we always said we would be each other's bridesmaid/matron of honour. So she was mine and I was hers!

The bridesmaid dresses were as beautiful as the wedding dress-all made by her mum (very clever lady).

Thanks girl. DH was not convinced he'd look good in an Indian outfit. Boy was he wrong. We had one tailored for him and he loved it. The dinner was really a colourful event. We had guests arriving in various traditional outfits. Both men and ladies.

Ok, hope these links work. This is only the 2nd time I've ever tried it:o , technology is not my strong suit...
Anyway, we got married in June 2000, had a medieval style wedding, and had an absolute ball.
Unfortunately I don't have a pic that shows the front of the dress the best that isn't in an album and too hard to scan, these are ones I stole out of frames to scan.
First one is us cutting the cake, I wanted a castle cake from the time I saw one in a bridal magazine when I was about 18.
Second is just about to leave in our horse and cart.
Third is our two (then toddlers) and my step son, with my sister's daughter as out page boys and flower girls. Had to put this in cause they are so cute...

thanks... thats partly cos I was best friends with the toilet from 6 weeks until a few days before the wedding with all day m/s... and I got a great dress! funnily enough a lot of people thought I looked HUGE for how long they'd all known (we only found out when I was 9.5 weeks)

Well i feel soooooo old!!!!!

Everyone looks so great and trendy.

I got married 10 years ago in March so i am afraid my look is alittle dated, so don't laugh.

Plus the images are not so great as i had to scan from my photo album, we didn't have digital cameras back then :eek:

A little history about my dress , i had it made by a designer in high street armadale vic, back then it cost around............................................ ...$4000.00

Yikes!!!!!!!!!!! My mum insisted on paying for it! So i was very lucky, but to compensate my SIL's made all the girls dresses! phhhhew!
Bear in mind back then dresses were still a little puffy and not so much in choice of elegant styles, not like these days you can pick some gorgeous dresses for $300.00.

P.s I am no longer a brunette!!!
