Hi - I am living at The Gap, Brisbane and have an 8 week old baby. Wondering whether there are any play groups around this area or on the Northside that I might be able to join in with. I have asked around but have not yet discovered anything. Hopefully I will hear something off this site and appreciate any response. :)

I emailed playgroup australia & got a reply about 2 playgroups here in stafford - i am going to call them tomorrow to find out more detials. it also seems pretty easy to create a playgroup with a minimum of 3 families so i will ask about that as well cause im meeting up on monday with the mums from my prenatal class.
Hi, when I had my first baby, I went along to a series parenting seminars held at the local child health centre. There were four of us who attended all of the groups and we decided to stay meeting.. and here we are four years later and our playgroup just gets bigger and bigger!! we have four mums, seven children and two more on the way!! (im 8 weeks PG with no. 3!!)
Its been a great way to make new friends and get together with mums with children similar ages.. we spend a great afternoon once a month chatting, drinking coffee.. and now the kids are older they are all entertaining each other!
I did try contacting the playgroups in stafford etc.. but found it a little intimidating when all the kids already seemed to know each other and the mums etc.. but thats my experience - yours might be different!
Best of luck
Anjelle :)

Hi
Further to this - not sure if you are available but a few of us are gathering at Huxtable Park Chermside West on Friday around 10.30 for morning tea so if you would like to come, let me know and I'll PM further details next week.
If the weather is still hot and humid, the new venue will be my place up the road.
