Hi all. I'm going to my GP tonight to hopefully hear the heartbeat for the first time using a doppler. This is my first appointment since my pregnancy was confirmed at just over 4 weeks. But, at almost 10.5 weeks, I feel like I'm the only one in the Aug thread who hasn't seen or heard their little one yet. I'm freaking out about him not being able to find a heartbeat and I was wondering whether there's anyone else in the same boat who hasn't yet had any concrete evidence that things are all OK?

Chicken, unless you've had bleeding i'd say you're quite likely to find that heartbeat!
even though i had a scan four weeks ago, i still feel so "normal" that i don't think we'll tell our friends until after the next scan!! it is still unbelievable and probably will be until he/she pops out!! :D

Nope not alone chicken!

I am 8 weeks and am not due to see OB (going public but you see an OB round here) till 20th Feb (she is on hols), so I will be bout 13.5weeks then.

They told me to see my DR till then, which i did and he said yes you are pregnant (no sh*t sherlock). My DR is a 40 minute drive and we only have one car :banghead: so it is not an easy thing to organise.

So I am going back this saturday to GP to work out bloods/US for nuchal tests as I want this done. I seriously doubt this guy has a doppler but will ask.

This is soo diff to last time, I was just told to turn up to appt's and heard heartbeat at 8 weeks at hospy book in. I feel a bit lost this time.

I am not too worried, I know i am pregnant, feel like **** and am a biyatch!!

good luck at the gp

Thanks guys.

Jamb - glad to hear I'm not the only one. Good thing you're not as paranoid as me.

Deb - thanks for knocking some sense into me. I need it. I haven't had any bleeding (unlike last time), so my rational brain is saying that it should all be fine. But its just that its so close now, and it all comes down to this moment - is this all really going to happen or not?

I will let you all know how it goes. Only four hours to go!

Chicken I went to my GP at 4 weeks (when I found out) and she didn't even do a urine test. I was 3 days later for AF when I went to see her and had had 2 positive tests at home. She dodn't take bloods, just told me to come back at 8 weeks and she'd do bloods then (the initial one's are just to confirm your pregnancy but I knew I was pg) and would book me in for a nuchal scan (to be done at 12 weeks).

She was going to book me in for an ultrasound to confirm dates but I declined. I know when we conceived. DD was 10 days late and I don't want someone deciding I'm ahead of what I really am and then losing valuable (for me) time at the end!
