I think my cat is jealous :( Any advice?

I have a 5 month old baby and my first born, a 7 month old cat lol and I really think the cat is jealous of the baby :(

Tonight, I was breast feeding Jane-Eloise on the sofa and the cat jumped up to sit beside us which was nice, so I talked to both of them for a while and the cat nudged her head right into the breast where Jane_Eloise was feeding and was nudging her head :eek: . I pushed the cat gently off the sofa after a while and she went crazy, running up the curtains, along the furniture, jumping up my indoor plants and DH had to put her outside eventually - this happens most days. Mostly when we are feeding.

Can anyone help - we have had to close the door to the baby's room as the cat has taken to sleeping in the cot (Jane-Eloise is co-sleeping atm though).

Any thoughts greatly appreciated :)

no addvice sorry but cats have always been known to be very jealous of babies or young children also known for sitting on there faces.. or so i was told!

Yeah they can be very jealous of babies. My Sil's cat is still jealous of her son. I thought my dog was going to be jealous, but just let her have a sniff and off she went :). But i still try and find time to give my puppy some attention. Maybe you could try that aswell. Just a thought.

Thanks girls, I do try to give the cat plenty of attention when bub is sleeping so she (the cat) is not missing out but she seems more aggressive when we are feeding. Everyone warned me not to get a cat before I had the baby but she was going to be put down otherwise so how could I refuse :(
