We are seriously considering going for 6 or atleast one more (we have 4 now) but I am wondering how all you other large families find the space to fit them into your house? We have 4 girls and currently have 2 girls to a room I think I will need to add another room or find a bigger house:laughing: What do you all think? I grew up alone and love having a big family of my own:D.

No idea, sorry. We will have 4 kids in 2 bedrooms that measure 1.8 X 2.2m, so pretty squishy here too.

Oh, one thing we will be doing is having bunk beds in the boys room with a trundle underneath so that we can have all 3 boys in together.

We have a 5 brm house but the way it's set up is not practical to have 1 of the rooms used as a kids room. There's a room for mummy & daddy upstairs, also upstairs is another room with a queen bed in it (this is the room not suitable as it's upstairs away from the rest of the house). At the bottom of the stairs is a large study-sized room which we've made into the nursery and will remain that way until we finish having kids - Immy is there at the moment, the new baby will follow. At the moment Chelsea & Nicola share a large bedroom and the room next door is the playroom. When bub #4 comes, he/she will be upstairs with us for 6 months in the cradle, then move to the nursery. Then we have 2 options, buy bunks and have all 3 girls in the one (large) room and keep the playroom as the playroom, OR buy bunks and have Nicola & Immy in the bedroom, turn the playroom into Chelsea's room with toys split between 2 rooms.

WHEW! I'm in the same boat as you! It's a hard job, but I think you just have to play musical rooms for a few years. Also, I don't think that it's a problem for brothers and sisters to share a room while young - I did with my bro until I was about 5 and it suited us fine. Also, I also think that siblings who share rooms when young learn to live together better and share their stuff and space.

Let us know how you go!

i only have the 3 girls and it's the space issue that will prolly keep it at that. we have a two bedder and we have had to enclose the back deck to make 3 bedrooms and then because it is sucha small house ( a cotage really) w have also enclosed under the house a bit to give the kids room to play.
i have the 2 young ones sharing and my older girl gets a room to herself. if we can we will think about building her a granny flat, but no idea how we will pay for that as yet....:detective: by the time we can she will be a teen and happy to have a bit of her own space.

i also still have a small dream of having another baby, but can't until we have somewhere to put it, and also iin the car. we are all squashed in there atm too.

we're moving to a smaller place, well it does have 5 bedrooms, but they are small, and no robes/built ins or anything. DD is to have room of her own, and so is the eldest, twins will share, so will the 10&9 year olds. Dont know where we are supposed to put the clothes. At the moment even though we have 5 bedrooms, they are big, and have double built in robes, plus one I have as a clothes room, and another we have as a junk room, I am sure going to miss those!! 4 kids share atm on bunks with a good 1m between beds, DD is in with us, and the eldest has one of his own.

In the new place, if we were going to seperate the bunks, there would be like 20-30cm between the beds.

We have four bedrooms and 5 kids. The two older girls each have their own room and the two boys share. The baby sleeps with us.
You just find ways to make them fit. It's no big deal really.

We have the two girls in together, and the two older boys in a room together. And Mstr 21 months is still bunking in with us :)

We are in a four bedroom house. BUT the smallest room which I would love to be used as a bedroom is just too hot in summer, and too cold in winter. So atm it's mstr 21 mths nappy change area/clean washing basket/someones coming over stash the junk room!!

Our major issue is clothes having a home.
