can anyone tell me who has tried it, tell me what they think about it ,how long does it take for the fern pattern to show up,does it last for ever.can they give a rating out of 10.10 being the best and 1 being poor

I very successfully conceived using Maybebaby, but it took a bit of trial and error to get it to work properly. I highly recommend you get a lint-free cloth to clean the glass and keep them together all the time (I kept the maybebaby wrapped in the cloth). Makes things very simple! I bought one from office works.

I found that you need to get a good dollop of spit, wipe it across the top and be careful that there are no airbubbles.. then you need to be very patient and leave it to dry completely. For me, if I was at home that could be anywhere up to 20 minutes or so, or if I was in my airconditioned office, it was much quicker (10 minutes).
VERY important to leave it dry completely.

When it is dry and you look through, if there are ferns they will be SO obvious. I spent a lot of days scratching my head and wondering if I had ferns, and later felt like a dill because there is no mistaking them when they show up!

Some other things that I (and others) found is that often the first morning spit is no good. I don't know why but for me, it only worked if I did it later in the day. The thing is, you need to wait a good hour or more (1 1/2 - 2 hours is best) after eating or drinking anything before doing it because the electrolytes in food and water will make fern patterns. I did mine at about 10am most days when I hadn't had anything since breakfast.

On the whole.. I was ready to chuck it out the window the first month. I thought it was the stupidest thing ever. But the 2nd month when I worked it out, it was fantastic. It showed me a full fern pattern on Day 7 of my cycle and it turned out I conceived on that day - when I never would have expected to be fertile at that time. So I guess I have to give it a 10 out of 10.. but I did have some teething problems to start with.

I bought one, and gave up using it to TTC #2 in disgust after not seeing any ferning for over 12 months, regardless what I tried in terms of collecting the saliva specimen.

I found the home ovulation test kits were cheaper, easier to use and more reliable.

Bought 2 ovulation test kits - once when I conceived DD#2, and another for the baby I am carrying now. One kit each time was all I needed, and they were just the cheap ones for under $20 in Safeway.

i haven't conceived with it yet but it has pinpointed exactly when i have o'd so i'd give it 10/10 also! i use it first thing in the morning and i get full ferns the day before and day of o..i love it and so does dh he loves looking at the ferns and like cosmic said they are so clear and you definelty know when you've got them.

i Like MB but sometimes I find it a little confusing. With MB I always O between days 8 and 10 whereas my temps show me o'ing around day 13 - I dont really know which one to believe. I guess I would be more inclined to believe maybe baby as I am not overly confident in my temp taking skills ;)
Take this month - day 6 partial ferns, day 7 partial/full ferns. day 8 through to 10 major full fernage! but no temp dip :confused: and no ewcm either :confused:
I think maybe if you use too many different methods of tetecting O it can get a bit confusing :-)

gave up and did it the natural way.

We were trying for over 12 months to fall pregnant when my brother told me about maybe baby, well I used it and fell pregnant in the next cycle. I have recommended it to 3 other women and they have all fallen pregnant. I used to get up spit on it first thing, and come back about 10-15 minutes later after breakfast and the spit was dry and have a look. The ferns would definately show up when I was ovulating. Basically when i had ferns we had sex and lots of it ....

A few people in the forum have learned from maybe baby that their o day has been around day 7 or 8. I guess you read everywhere that o day is around day 14, so if you were not temping, using maybe baby etc - you could totally miss o day altogether as you wouldnt be expecting it.
I have looked back through my diary and noticed that I have had some ferns around day 7 for the past 4 months. sometimes I get a day or two of ferning at around day 13, but the consistent ferns are always around day 7 or 8. So glad I have maybe baby now, and glad I started using it straight after af too!
My advice would be if you have a maybe baby and you are not gettig any ferns - try using it from very early in your cycle like cd5 or something. You never know - you may find that you are fertile earlier than you thought!
