View Full Version : Montessori Pre-Schools in Perth
Hi Everyone,
I was just wondering if anyone had any information or experience with Montessori Schools in Perth?
We are thinking about putting our 2.5 year old in one when he is 3. Being from Adelaide, not sure which pre-schools are well regarded etc.
Also what are peoples views how well their child has responded to the montessori method?
Thanks,

hi Sarah,
My children aren't goning to a montorsorri(?) school but i have some friends who are teachers aides at one in R/Ham & they say its great- they do all life skill training with the kids (who are only 3  ) & teach them how to be independant - my friends are really nice people & LOVE kids so i know that the children they teach will certainly be getting plenty of attention etc- i don't really know much else- i had a cousin who sends her little one there & she raves about it (they are in Fremantle? or Spearwood area) - also i believe that the class sizes are quite small & that can only be a good thing :) Hope this helps a bit

My boy is 2.5 and were off for our montessori interview this saturday! we have also done the parents evening which is your first step to getting an insight into how the school is run. You then do a an observation of a class and then the interview. There are a few schools in Perth but is dependable on where your moving to as theres more around Perth and north of the river then in the South.
If your thinking of enrolment for next year youd be advisable to start getting your child enrolled very soon as they have limited places due to the small classes and siblings get prioritie.
Educationally Montessori is not for everyone but we feel it will suit our son it helps them to make choices and become more self reliant. classes are small and its not all about competeing and winning which can be alot of pressure on children and this is were alot of them give up.
There are some rely good books out there and if you look up montessori WA youll find info about the schools in WA. If you need any more info you can email me. Hope this helps.
