is he weaning???

my son is 16months old. i dont know if hes starting to wean...my boobs are always full and he would rather drink water out of a cup or drink bottle than have booby juice. :(

it could be time. Does he refuse your breast when you offer it or does he have a 'quick' suck? It's fantastic that he is still feeding at 16 months- a big :yelclap: to you and him for getting to this point. He will know when it is time-as hard as it can be for us as the mum, they are the ones who know.

yes to both questions, sometimes he will push my boob away and say no or other times he will have 2 sucks and thats it.

im sad that he wants to wean...but it will be good aswell coz i will be able to go out and not worry about his next feed etc. and i will have ppl off my back at work - they think its weird i still express for him!

My DD self weaned at 16months. I think she must have been gradually taking less and less as one night she just jumped straight off and drank lots of cows milk instead and that was it I didnt offer again and she didnt ask for it. I had no problem with engorgement or anything so I think the clever little thing had just been gradually weaning over some time.

I was sad in a way that it was over but also glad that it was her decision that she didnt need it any more, I felt it was the perfect end to a perfect breastfeeding relationship. I still go a bit wobbly if I log onto to the photos in the lets celebrate breastfeeding section:rolleyes:
