Hi everyone

I new to this site. Basically, my DH had a freak accident in his younger years which left him with some nerve damage in his upper thigh. As a result, he doesnt actually shoot any sperm out. This is called Retrograde Ejaculation. It goes back into his bladder instead of coming out. Sometimes we are lucky, and a little bit does come out but after a year of trying to conceive naturally it looks like i'm going to make an appointment to see an IVF specialist.

Just wondering if anyone out there has a DH with Retrograde Ejaculation and if you have been lucky enough to fall pregs with or without IVF or some sort of assistant. They say trying sex when DH has a full bladder so it has no choice but to shoot out.....this hasnt worked for us. I've heard medication like Sudafed helps...tried this with no luck too!!!

Well, for all the IVF couples out there...what should I do to prepare? I would love any diet hints and tip....how long from our first appointment do we start the treatment?

Thanks for listening and sorry it's sooo long!

I don't have any information for you .....but would like to wish you and your DH best wishes and baby dust.....:hugs: ttc is very difficult on its own without added problems

You will find you will get a lot of support on this site....it has helped me alot.

Cheers Helen

Thanks Helen!

Well, I'm made the first step today and made an appointment with Sydney IVF to discuss our options. I feel excited...!!

Thats great Gina!

IVF is a big step forward for you and keep in mind that IVF has great success rates... nearly 50% chance per cycle, compare that to a 'natural' cycle and there is only about a 23% chance of conceiving.

Good luck!

good luck! Just eat healthily, as you would if you were trying to conceive naturally.

It does work. ;)
