OK so the Alice one that kymmy gave turns out way too small for my big betty bum bub. Was so very upset when I finished it and tried it on her to find that it didn't cover her nappy up the back and was too tight arund her thighs:crying:

So please, load me up with links so I can get started on another one, one that is more suited to a 10+ kg bub (althought Kailah is only 9.5kg the pattern should have fit but it did not, and I used the same wool it suggests and the right needles and everything... very sad indeed.)

try 1/2 a size bigger needles and more stitches in the thighs

My MIL did the alice pattern with 1/2 a size bigger needles then recommended and it fits my 16 + kg 2 year old except around the thighs, and she is just going to add rows or something around the legs to fit him better.

She made another one with smaller needles and extra stitches around the thighs and fits my DS2 7.7 kgs, well it got lots of growing room which is a good thing

Might give it a go. I thought about the bigger needles but thought it would affect the absorbency or whatever, as it would have bigger hole between the stitches KWIM??

Oh Kymmy, the knitting queen... where are you??

I use the Tiny bird pattern. It fits well and you could easily adjust it as you go if you want to make it bigger.

The first one I made smaller because DS was only new, I just used smaller needles.

I made the Alice first time when Av was 8 months and it fit perfectly. But at about 11months it was too small. You can add rows so instead of 40 knit 48 for example to make a longer rise. Also found the leg holes need to be bigger so keep that in mind when sewing it up.
