DH & I went to a Wedding yesterday (and I booked us into the Rialto on Collins to make a big night of it!) and when we were outside during the reception the bride's Uncle was out there ranting and raving how he'd have to get a pizza on the way home, that the food was so s***, there wasn't enough, how rude it was to be invited to a wedding and then be served snack sized portions :ecomcity: :ecomcity: :ecomcity:
Another guest commented that he thought the food was nice and that we were there to celebrate the marriage and not really to have a feast. Well this guy went on and on!!!!
I thought it was particularly rude because he was family (to the bride) and the people (us) that he was airing his grievances to weren't family, and personally, whatever he thought he should have kept his opinions to himself.
I thought the food was absolutely beautiful...
Appetizer - lightly crumbed fresh calamari & salad
Entree - Curry Vegetable puffs
Main - I had Chicken breast stuffed with sun dried tomato and marscapone cheese, roast potatoes, vegetables, and there was a large Greek salad for the table. DH had lamb.
Dessert - Baklava, baci ice-cream and pistachio creme brulee
Cheese and fruit platter
Chocolates & coffee
Wedding cake
This was MORE than enough...don't you think?

OMG how rude!! And that sounds like heaps of food! I'm guessing he's probably used to very large servings and possibly not familiar with the smaller portions you get served in fine dining restaurants?? Crass. Totally.

I actually thought that it may have been a case of the 'green eyed monster' rearing it's ugly head...and making himself feel better by s***-canning the day.

I know...I soooo wanted to put him in his place and remind him that only pigs really eat quantity & not quality, but I remember looking up at DH during this rant and I got the "don't get involved...don't start anything" look...I know that look very very well!:o

Geez, what does that guy do for a living?
Perhaps he's a body builder? Not for muscle, obviously lol

I think their menu sounds so delicious!
I'd be quite pleased.

Definitely rude of him.

How rude !! The food sounded awesome...

the fact that he was suggesting pizza after that food seems to me he is a "quantity not quality"person

Rude, rude man.
All that food sounds delicious. :chef:

Grant and I went to a wedding last year and he fainted coz he was overheated and on the way to the bride and groome's house (they had the reception at home) the bride (his friend) told him to "grab some Hungry Jacks on the way back" because they didn't know how long they'd be and also didn't know how long the caterers were gonna be, but he never said the food was bad or anything (which it wasn't) I think his friend was worried that he fainted coz he needed to eat something.
