My mum makes savoury toasties, very yummy!
Mixture: grated cheese, eggs, french onion soup mix.
Under the griller, toast one side of the bread (as many slices as will feed that many people) Then spread the mixture on the untoasted side, put back under the griller. Grill for a few minutes, they'll smell brilliant and look golden brown when ready.
My mum cuts them into little triangles, or fingers, which I think are good for party food.
(The only issue with this recipe is the soup mix, it's pretty salty and has preservatives etc in it.)
