Im Getting Married....... Finally

Hi everyone

This is just my little happy, good news thread I thought I might share. After postponing my (dream) wedding for 2 yrs I woke up one day just after xmas and said stuff it Im gonna have the wedding at the court house and then invite my close friends and family (as in I see and or talk to everyday) to dinner and stuff it they can even pay for their own (saves buying us a gift that we dont really need) Just buying a day dress, my BM got her dress for $14 at sales, flowers are $20, cake is just getting made by friends, invitations are just made on publisher etc etc.
May not be everyones cup of tea but let me tell you I wish I done it so much earlier so much more stress free and a huge help with the budget.
Funny this is now though that some people (jokingly) have been saying its a shotgun wedding cos Im pregnant :laughing: Ok Im off talk to you all later

Oh BTW date is 21st Feb this year lol

Well wedding plans WERE going well lol. Me and my father had a huge arguement on monday, cos I have left my aunty (his sister) off the invitation list (which is for number for the restaurant only) just cos I know she wont b able to make it but I know she would appreciater being thought of. Well dad went off his head at me and I went off at him and turns out Im now disowned (for about a week I reckon) and he also said when I have the baby not to take it anywhere near him. He has now had my cousin, my step mother (his ex-wife) go off their head at him. Im a bit upset cos he went to far but Im just avoiding him he can come to me. Were both typical Taureans though, a bull sees a red cape/flag it doesnt stop and wonder why it is there or what it means it just charges for it and where both really stubborn as well, Im just hoping he snaps outta it soon cos he is supposed to b paying for the restaurant booking lol.

Goodluck with the wedding, seems even simple weddings can turn sour when you mix family into it! I hope your dad cools down and understands where you are coming from. I'm sure it will be a lovely day. Congratulations!

THE SAGA CONTINUES!!! lol Well it turns out that now dad is upset because 1, he feels like his daughter deserves a proper wedding, 2, Im not getting married in a church (although he isnt religious and Im so against it Im an atheist) and 3, He is upset cos he thinks he wont be able to walk me down the aisle. He thinks Im just signing a bit of paper inside the court house and thats it, but its out in the gardens of the court house and its going to be a ceremony. He wants me to have a celebrant and have a BBQ at my cousins house on a weekend. The thing he forgets is that I have already lodged the notice of intention to marry form and I dont think I would be able get a refund from the court house, plus he still isnt talking to me he has been getting my cousin to relay messages for me and I have already finished and sent out my invitations. I cant wait till its over with kinda lol

You have to fill out a standard Notice of Intention to Marry no matter where the ceremony is going to be so you could change the venue if you wanted to. But don't do anything you don't want to do as it is your day and its all about you................... and hubby of course :)

Finally some good news!!! My dad is talking to me again and to top it off I even got a lovely very official acceptance card posted in the mail from my dad and his gf lol
Also the venue I have booked for the reception isnt going to charge me a booking fee now so I get that for free, and also I was going to buy glass bowls for $12 each and fill them with the glass stones and have a floating candle in them but the venue has glass bowls they are going to let me use for free. Dress is well under way now its going to be Silver (well Im pregnant so not pure enough for white anymore :laughing: ) But yeah things are going great.
Oh I had a check up at the Dr's the other day kinda good news and kinda bad news. Good thing is I have lost 4 kgs (at my weight it is fine and Dr is happy bout it) bad news is turns out Im 16 wks not 18 so now new EDD is 2nd July. I know its not much but I just think that Ive thought for so long that Im 2wks ahead so when I reach 21st June (the orignal date) and go past it Im gonna feel like Im overdue if that makes sense. People keep saying Im gonna appreciate the extra 2 wks to get ready I dunno what do you all think?

Oh mlbmummy yeah I could but then I would have to pay for a celebrant the lady at the Courthouse is just the court appointed one (I dont know her official title) She doesnt do it outside of the Courthouse or out of business hrs
