DS has started to grind his teeth, and apart from it being hard to listen to, it makes me worry that they will get sensitive. I have done some searches and found that it seems to be quite common among kids around 3 yrs old when they are sleeping. DS has four top teeth and three bottom teeth.
Has anyone else had this with their ds/dd at this age or there abouts, and can you stop it - he thinks it's funny when I tell him to stop and does it more so I don't react anymore but he still does it.
The noise is worse than nails down a chalk board HELP ME

Arrrh i hate that noise(dont remind me pls lol) yes dd did this around the same age,i think its quite normal and just a stage they go through,i told her so many times to stop doing it and she didnt listen, there isnt really much you can do about it,just know that it wont be long before he 'grows' out of it.Dd done it for a couple of weeks then forgot about it.

thanks for your reply, like all things child related I guess I will just have to wait for him to 'grow out of it'. :o

Oops, I totally put this in the wrong section. If any mods want to move it to "Teeth &Teething" I appreciate it!

I noticed cobey grinding the day his first tooth came through.. which makes me think it's a teething thing.. I guess you don't normally notice it on wee ones like mine as it doesn't make a noise when it's just gums..

No answers here, sorry. Sarah's 10 months old, with 4 teeth and the grinding is HORRIBLE. I've been told that I'll probably just have to wait for her to grow out of it too.

My dd stopped her grinding when she was 5.
I'm glad it finally stopped. It was very irritating
