I am new to Melbourne(moved here a few months ago). I have a question about playgroups. I live in the Blackburn area and have been tring to join a playgroup for weeks now. I have had forms sent to me which I have filled out and returned only to be told there are no places left and I am on a waitlist. :confused:

I don't get it, its playgroup, kids go there for 2 hours and play, mothers/cares/guardians get a break and some adult conversation. Why do we have to fill out forms and go on waiting lists. Could somebody please enlighten me. Thanks :)

yes I had the same problem, compounded by arriving justbefore they closed for the christmas hlidays. I managed to find a church one that you could just attend casually. All the others were waiting lists. have you calledthe council? they usually have a list of all theplaygroups.

I've just bumped into this site tonight! I also live in Craigieburn. I'm a working mum and have a 4 year old son, who is my angel. I've been finding it a little difficult and feel a bit isolated. My friends are single with no kids, so I guess I'm looking for some new friends who are mothers and understand, (and who also would like to socialise a bit!!!
