Yes another pg health issue from me!
I developed itchy skin at week 10 and at week 20 still suffering. It began on tummy but now arms, legs, feet, back and face are affected.Dr has advised moisturiser, calamine lotion, sorbeline but they are not working. My OB prescribed a antihistimine(as a one off solution) but was allergic to that.
The last DR i visited suggested I'm allergic to this pg due to runny nose and cough.Strange considering I've been pg twice before and had no itch. Is anyone else having this problem?had it?or know someone that is?
ANY suggestion for relief would be more than welcome as 20 more weeks of this is....:banghead:
Thankyou

Itchy skin is annoying i know. Mine is no where near as bad. But i have been using bio oil available from the chemist and it has stopped my itchiness. My friend had it really bad and she suggested it.
Worth a try!
Have you had liver function tests done??
Itchy skin in pregnancy can be a sign of cholestasis... which is a potentially dangerous condition that needs to be medically managed.
I have cholestasis but thankfully I have been put on to medication which has improved my liver function and stopped the itching.
What you have probably isn't cholestasis, but it's certainly worth ruling out, considering that it comes with a higher risk of stillbirth. Ask your doctor to check your LFT's (blood tests).
I get really itchy aswell not so much my tummy but on my arms and legs.
You could try Tea tree oil with a moisturiser it works for me.
But now i'm worried about the Liver thing
Hope that helps

This what happend to me. But mine wasnt a rash. It felt more like salt coming out of my skin :). Id just check with ur doc about it. I was 2 weeks over when they finally guessed what mine was and i got induced the next day. The rash went 2 days later. But they did blood tests while i was in labour and nothing was there. But thats what they told me anyway. I heard its common to get rash's during pregnancy. Id maybe check it with the doc or widmifes when you go to the hospital next. Just a thought. I hope it goes soon.

Thanks for advice and kind words:hugs:
I had blood tests done a couple of weeks ago (liver, kidneys etc) and it was all OK.I'll give the bio oil and teatree moisturiser a go. A bit of relief is better than nothing
