DH has not been well since Wednesday night, for him to be sick this long is really starting to worry me. I am getting him back to the doctors (for the 3rd time!!) tomorrow, but I thought I might see if anyone has had anything similar. And has the title saids there maybe TMI.

Ok, Wednesday night he wasn't feeling to well, had stomach pains and thought he must have eaten something bad at work. He has a very sensitive stomach, and can not have anything diary. Early Thursday morning he woke up with really sharp pains just below rib cage, and his tummy did not feel right. He had some diarrhoea, and burp A LOT!! In the morning he was feeling a little better, still a little pain but not as bad. Now he was silly that lunch time and ate a frozen meal :banghead:(he has learnt from this) and had diarrhoea and threw up most of the afternoon.

Since then it has been on dry biscuits and toast with lots of bottle water, and hydrating ice blocks. Most time he will wake up fine in the morning, starting to get hungry but sticking to simple foods, come the afternoon he will get reallllllly tired, then the stomach pain starts then the burping!!! The diarrhoea has stop and he hasn't been sick again, I really don't think its Gastro.

If you got through all that, THANK YOU. Has any one got any ideas what it could be. It is really starting to worry the both of us.

hi jkat,

im no doctor but a friend of mine experienced similar issues and was diagnosed with pancreatis (sp?). They just suffered thought bowel movements and vomitting when they have eaten certain foods. It could also be a irritable bowel syndrome?

i hope its neither of the above, and was just a bug hun!

good luck!

What have the dr's said the 2 times you've taken him already?
My friend had a similar thing, and it went on for months.... She started to lose a lot of weight, and got really really sick, and was diagnosed as being a celiac (sp?).
:hugs: Hope you get it sorted out hun.

it may be irritable bowel syndrome as i had this 4 about 10years i would go see some one other gp as i had one gp that did not know wat it was and said to me live with it. then i went to my gp now and she found it the first time i seen her.

hope he is feeling better soon.

Do you know what he ate on Wed at work?
It sounds tome like it could be a reaction to some foods - as ziggy said he may be coeliac....

I had something similar years back and it turns out it was a grumbly appendix..(?)

Thank you for your replies ladies. DH is much better this morning, however its this afternoon that we will see how things are, thats when it gets worse.

When he first saw the doctor on Thursday, he thought it was most likely stomach bug, but also did some blood test and egc - as the pain was high and he does have a slight chlestro(sp?) problem. This all came back normal. When we went back the second time - mainly to get another certificate it was thought that he was not getting better due to eating the frozen dinner. If he gets sick again today we are going back tomorrow and if I am not happy I will take him to see someone else, but I don't think that will happen he is a good doctor.

DH had a endoscopy done a couple of years ago which everything came back normal, thats when we started cutting diary from his diet.

One Wednesday he had, 4 weetbix with soy milk(it was a different one then usual), glass of apple juice, 2 slices of pizza from a takeaway, 2 tubs of homemade salad - had roast beef from the deli with it, chocolate twirl bar. We can't remember if he had dinner but he didn't eat much because he started to feel sick. If it was something he ate, wouldn't it have gone through his system by now.

Sorry for the long post, but it has help me look at everything, so if we do go back to the doctor at least I have everything straight in my head.

Thanks again Ladies :hugs:

Hi Karen, My FIL is staying with us at the moment and has everything you have described he has had it for 2-3 days now but is feeling much better this morning still can't eat much and feels very weak but is none the less a lot better than he was. He had vomitting, burping and pains so it sounds the same I think something is going around at the moment hope he gets better soon.
He had plenty of rest and little bits of food and now he is on his way to recovery.
