Im really concerned about my DS and his arm. For the last couple of months ive noticed that Jayden doesnt stop moving his right wrist. He is always turning it around in circles. Its always his right wrist and it gets worse when his agitated. At first i didnt worry about it as i though it was because he's learning what his body parts do. Now ive noticed that he doesnt stop it. I also found it strange as he only does it with one wrist. Jayden does this action all the time, but is more prominant when he is excited, crying, angry and tired. Has anyone else had this problem? Can anyone here help me with this situation? Does anyone know what it could be? Im so worried about it, i keep thinking of all the worse things. :(

Sounds like a tick which people with torettes (sp?) syndrome have. He's way too young to develope that though I would think
Hopefully he will just grow out of it. Sorry I'm no help to you. I hope someone else can give you advice.

hey :)
firstly ((hugs)) - it is SO hard when there are no easy answers!!!! and your brain ALWAYS goes to the worst things!!!
- does Jayden stop it when you tell him too??? - do you think he actually realises he is doing it?? does he stop it spinning to play with things???
he might just like the feeling???
I dont think I have any answers- but I wouldn't be thinking too deeply about it unless he is showing obvious other tendancies (e;g. with autism he would be rocking lots ... or flapping his hands/ object in front of him... showing OTHER indications...)
xxx
good luck hon
((hugs))

It's probably nothing to worry about Jaydensmum - my DS1 did the same thing for a short period of time (around 18mths) with both wrist's (mainly when he was excited and he didn't really know he was doing it I noticed), it was like he had just discovered a new trick, but it only lasted a few months.
Anyway, if it continues and you are really worried, it may be worth getting him checked by your gp or a paedeatrician.
:) Jakob use to do the some ting when he was a baby, he is almost six now & he is fine i think its just some thing that some baby's do just there nerves or some thing like that... Chloe has this thing where she will sack her head like when we don't like the taste of food but I'm fine with it so i wouldn't worry to much about it just yet. if he doesn't grow out of it then maybe see some one..
Hi there. I think my child is a little odd now!
He twirls his wrists around and around CONSTANTLY and lately he has started squinting his whole face up, just like when he eats something very sour... he just does these things!!!
Hey jadensmum,. I read up about this in Robyn Barkers Babylove and Toddler Taming and apparently quite a lot of kids do it,. it almost looks like he is revving a motorcycle????? They like the feeling of it,..and grow out of it!
