View Full Version : Storing cloth nappies....
Do you have a place where you store your cloth nappies? I am thinking i might need a nappy stacker, but not sure if these are good because of all the inserts etc if they go in the stacker aswell. Or i could just clean our DS's drawers and fit them in there... hehe.
OMG, i am getting so addicted, i am so tempted right now to buy the full-time BBH package! But i am seriously trying to resist the urge...

mine get stored in 2 drawers of bella's chest of drawers - one drawer has boosters, covers, flat nappies (which we just use for vomit rags or to go on the change table), and the drawer below has fitteds, aio's and pockets in it (i stuff the pockets when i'm putting the washing away so they're ready to go out of the drawer).
i have seen people store their nappies in the shelves of a change table ....... i wouldn't go the nappy stacker personally, only cause i like to see all the colours and decide which one to pick :D

My change table has a basket/compartment thingy underneath it, which is where I keep everything.
Oh, who am I kidding, they're either on his butt, in the dirty nappy basket, on the line, or in the clean-washing-that-needs-to-be-folded-basket :p Every now and then I get the washing right up to date and the clean nappies get put away under the change table.

yeah ..... i meant to add "actually most of mine are sitting directly opposite me now in the lounge room, in a pile on the other lounge"
perhaps i should have said "well, where they SHOULD go is in the chest of drawers" :o
Haha, you girls are funny. Well i think i might have to clear out his two top drawers in his dresser and put them in there, they wouldn't last long under the change table cause DS likes to crawl in there and throw everything out. I won't bother getting a nappy stacker, cause i'd rather see what colour to pick too! lol
I bought a nice wicker washing basket that has a cloth lining in it that stores ours  i make them up as they dry as DH wont use them if he has to put them together

I have a drawer that have "daddy, ready to use" nappies, a basket with fitted and covers, another basket with wipes and then a nappy stacker that has sleep nappies in it.
All teh pockets were stuffed ready to go and all inserts in properly and ready to go as well.
Here is a pic of Olivia's change table and the way the nappies are stored....

I tried a nappy stacker, but it was a pain in the butt trying to get to the nappy you want, they would all fall out! Go the drawer option, or a basket, or box etc. I put all the nappies together and away in the box as I get them off the line. I have all the extra boosters, ect in the cupboard under the change table.
We have a nappy stacker for flats. A basket with bits and pieces, next to that wipes, two staked wire baskets. Top one has fitteds, bottom one has boosters and prefolds. Also have a wooden box over flowing with woollies. I think I need a nappy room....

I just have a cheap Ikea canvas box that mine are in at the moment, shut away in the wardrobe.
I have been pondering a good way to 'display' my nappies.. I want two features: practicality AND high exposure for anyone wondering (still) what I put on DD's butt :D
Thanks for the pics Ikis, that's a great idea!
Pookie - haha, i was thinking the same, i could put them in the drawers, but then i don't get to look at how cute they are! lol
Kymmy - Sounds like you need a nappy room for sure!
They are all great ideas, thanks heaps ladies!

I store mine on the change table shelves (there's two) but it's getting to the point that i can no longer fit anymore on there, no matter how many times i arrange and re-arrange it :banghead: So i think i may have to get a separate cain basket or something.
Kerrin just read your post and i am the total opposite. My nappies are the first thing that gets done when they are taken off the line. Stuff the clothes haha
LOL! for those who store their nappies in the laundry basket! I used to do that, but DF would always look at the basket - "that's too haaaaard, chicken" :D and end up putting on a sposie. And I like to display them anyhow :o
We had a party on the weekend and we got loads of comments about our nappy towers! LOL! There's too many for the shelf under the change table now. I need more storage space :D

Laura's fitteds/pockets/aio nappies are in a nappy stacker- but it is a decent sized one, not one of those poncey little things that would only fit sposies! (lol- was laughing at them in the babies galore the other day!) The boosters/liners/wipes/covers etc go in one of the top drawers in her change table. I love our change table! 2 smaller drawers up top (I use for nappy bits and for her everyday wear) and then 2 larger drawers under that. Her flat nappies go in her wardrobe. We have one of those hanging shelf divider thingys, they go in there on the top shelves under her dresses. The stacker hangs off the wardrobe. lol- everything is handy! All in the same corner and the room is quite small anyway....:D I cant wait to get into our new house!
