I had some pins and needles in my fingertips during my preg, but since and emergency caser/epidural 3 weeks ago, they won't go away. Do I wait for Dr appoint in 3 weeks or should I worry?

Don't Worry! The pins and needles are part of pregnancy for a lot of women and they can take ages to go away! I could barely hold the kettle in the last few months of my pregnancy and I thought they would go away after birth. (like the heartburn, that was amazing, suddenly it was gone after months of burning!) The pins and needles slowly disappeared by about 7 or 8 weeks after birth for me and for my cousin it took 3 months. It was not as bad after birth as before, I did not feel like I would ever drop my DS, so if they are not worse I would not worry too much.

I hope that helps, Kez

Hi

I had this during pregnancy and my doctor prescribed some vitamins ... it was so long ago, that I can't remember whether they were vitamin b or e!

They certainly helped ... maybe you could ask at a health shop or chemist ... maybe they could tell you which ones?

Hi,
sounds like it could be carpal tunnel, it is common in pregnancy, for me it started with pins and needles in my fingers now I have alot of oain in my wrist in the m ornings it is worse, Dr said it will probably go after baby is born is due to fluid retention, you can purchase splints from a chemist, there is also a minor surgical proceedure that can be done if it does'nt resolve.

Hi Debz,

I had Carapal Tunnel syndrome quite badly with my first son. I actually had to wear splints most of the time, especially while I slept. I had constant pins and needles in my fingers and had trouble grasping objects. Within 5 weeks after giving birth my symptoms had subsided. It did return later in my second pregnancy but not near as badly and once again was gone after 3-4 weeks.

If you are concerned it never hurts to go and see your GP.

Best of luck sorting things out and congrats on the new bub.

I think I have tarpal tunnel syndrome which is the same symptoms as carpal, but in your ankle / heel. I read 200mg of B6 a day is the key.
