HI all,
I am thinking about getting one of those Slingalong things for new bub. We already have a Kapoochi sling type of thing but bub cant lay down in it...
Does anyone use one? What are they like? Dont want to buy one & not use it much!!

We use a sling all the time but its a Hip Bubby ring sling. I highly recommend them :)

I have a baba sling, which my 11 week DD just loves - its very handy for settling and soothing baby, as they love to be close, smell you, hear your heartbeat and nestle for comfort. I find it also helps when I'm out and about as I have my hands free eg shopping. It can also be useful for breastfeeding and makes it more discreet in public. We also have the kapoochi baby carrier, but DD prefers the sling, as she can be a variety of positions and it feels more natural for her. The slingalong looks very similar to my sling, which you can check out on www.babaslings.com
Good luck in choosing a sling!!

I bought a sling recently (my DS is already 7 months!) I wish I had of found it earlier!! Since he's getting a little heavy I only really use it for quick trips to shops and around the house, but will definately be using it for the next little one!!
I couldn't decide between, slingalong, hip bubby, bubba moe or baba slings, they all look so good!!! I ended up settling for bubba moe - Bubba Moe (www.bubbamoe.com.au) Which is pretty similar to the slingalong! It's pretty easy to use, and has some cushioning on the shoulder pad, it came with instructions and was delivered 2 days after I made payment!! Good luck with finding one!! :D

Thanks for all the info guys...
another Q though.... Bub is due in Dec, do you think it might get a bit hot in the sling for bub?
Hey Becky:)
I love our sling...we have only just stopped using it (he's 17 months adn we would still probably use it if we went on a trip or sometihng - he;s really light.)
Its a mesh one so it would probably be a bit cooler for summer....I didn tnotice that it was particularly hot last summer ans we used it everyday (he's only been in his pram like twice in his life lol.) Ours is a Hatchling sling from Keltorr designs.

If you dont want to buy one you are welcome to borrow ours for awhile to see how you go before you make a decision:) Let me know and I could post it to you:)

Thanks Katie that one looks great.... I think the mesh will be a lot cooler than the other types!! Now all i have to do is pick a colour!! What colour is yours?
BTW thanks for the offer!
The mesh is a natural creamy colour and the rails are purple:)

i have a slingalong sling that i just love (so does bubs- she sleeps the whole time!). I use it mainly for shopping (in the aircon) or settling Bubs when shes a bit grizzly. I wore it to the markets the other day and while i had sweat dripping off me Zara was sound asleep and was warm but not hot. i am a sling convert and think they are great- i have a flash pram which i dont use much and a $15(ebay) sling i couldnt do without. :)
