I had my second caesarean just over a week ago. It was a lot better than I expected (from what I had remembered from my first one).

I was up and walking around the next day - I wanted to get up earlier but the midwives told me to stay in bed til they got me up for a shower the next morning. Had one shot of morphine for pain relief the night of my caesarean and some voltaren (i think) the next morning. After that it was just panadol.

Was only in hospital for 2 days. When DP and I tell people that I had a caesarean and was home in two days, they say 'Are you mad?'.. DP keeps saying "Nah, she's just tough!"

I think the recovery this time was because I got stitches instead of staples (well thats what I'm putting it down to). I feel just about 'normal' now - no pain to speak of and I'm doing nearly everything I was doing prior to bubs birth...

Congrats on the safe birth of your bub!

I was in labour for 36 hours and then asked for a ceasarean and it was the most calm, nice experience. I remember the relief so well. I liked labour up until DD got stuck then it was hard.

I have a question for you - do they use the same scar each time? I'd like to go through labour again, but it will probably end in a c-section and I'm already depressed about my c-section 'flap', so another scar might be a consideration for my next pregnancy.

Well done Emma, though you're a bit braver than me, coming home after two days:eek: .

I had my second CS eleven days ago and went home after 5 nights in hospital. Like you I was up and about as soon as I could - cs 2pm, up showering 10am. I too had dissovable stitches and my scar is already heeling well.

Fruitjuice...can't speak for all OB's but my second cs incision was made in the same spot as my first. My OB removed the old scar tissue and sewed me up in the same spot.

My OB told me they can actually fix the flap when they do a second c-section. Mine actually fixed itself anyway, but my OB told me after my first c-section that if it didn't correct itself, if I had a c-sectiont the second time around he would fix it for me. So, particularly if it is getting you down, have a chat to your OBGYN.

Hope that helps.

Good luck Babyella!

My recovery from my 2nd caesar was pretty quick - I asked to go home from hospital after 3 nights (I would have gone after 2 but my OB wasn't on over the weekend) and was given the all clear!
