View Full Version : Grobags
I am looking at purchasing a gro-bag, and have noticed that there are different togs for different seasons.
Even though there are lightweight togs, are gro-bags suitable for newborn summer babies?

I got a grobag delivered today - it is the lightest tog and it is made from two layers of light cotton material. I reckon with a pair of shortie pajamas or a t-shirt suit it will be just about right for Brisbane summer nights.
I am going to use for an 8 week old baby - don't know for a newborn - the newbie might liked to be wrapped up for a while.

Hi Sopoli
When you say you got your grobag delivered, did you get it from the internet. I got a brochure the other day from Brisbane Bubs, saying they had them in stock, do you know if it is cheaper over the net? If so, could you please give me the website, by bub constantly is kicking the sheet off.
Thanks Mel

hi there,
I don't think grobags are suitable for newborns - the smallest size I think is for 6kg+ and if you actually get one you will see that a newborn would slip right down the bag and possibly suffocate!
I bought one for Tayla when she was 2 months but had to wait until she was 4 months to fit into it properly without slipping into it!

The one I bought is from 0 - 6 months from a minimum weight of 3.2 kgs, with press studs under the arms so bub would not slip into it.

Sorry I forgot about that one!
Tayla was 2.5kg when born and she wasn't 3.5 kg until she was about 2 months old so nothing but newborn size fitted here!

Hi-are you going to the Adelaide mums lunch? If so I've got a brochure I can bring with me which has all the grobags and you can buy them over the internet, cheaper than the shops.
Also not sure when your bubs is due but if it isnt for a few months Lucy will probably have outgrown her current grobag so maybe we could do a deal!! Its a 0-6month 1tog "home grown baby" bag, very cute.
