Nor should there be shame, Seek!
This is a fantastic list-it should be on a printed piece of paper in every bounty bag from the first until the last. After a quick scroll, I have to say I like number 72-it is one of those quick-witted answer reasons.;)

i chose to BF ds2 because of :
breast milk lowers risk of baby developing asthma
A number of studies have linked lack of breastfeeding to asthma.
and

Formula feeding increases chances of baby developing allergies

Breastmilk has never been recalled due to manufacturing problemslmao

Awesome list Meme, thanks for posting

And most of the reasons have cited references :yelclap: (and those that don't are just commonsense anyway ;))

Suckling optimizes hand-to-eye coordination
It isn't completely clear why, but breastfed infants are able to see and manipulate objects quicker than their formula fed counterparts. This is one of the many benefits of breastfeeding that are still being explored.

...:detective: ......interesting.....I wonder why that is???

That list made me very sad....sad that I didn't try harder to breastfeed...actually its made me cry.....mostly about the health related benefits of breast feeding.

I feel bad that if I have another baby they are going to get the head start health wise that my first born didn't.

Man...if only I could rewind my life.:gloomy:

Oh BubbaGanoush....:hugs:
Don't be sad - if that list made you sad, then you are obviously a wonderful caring mum who is doing everything else to ensure your bub is getting a healthy start to life

I've wished a million occasions I could press rewind  :o

hehe I chose to bf and stick with it when my nipples felt like falling off, for most of the reasons listed.

My favourite one on the list is number 8

8. Breast milk is always ready and comes in a nicer package than formula does

Need one say more?

...:detective: ......interesting.....I wonder why that is???

at 5 months, Cobey can straddle my knee, grab my boob in his hand and launch himself at the nipple and keep himself upright while he does it... I understand the bottle-fed bubs can hold the bottle, but Cobey's always gotten the nipple in his mouth without much prompting.. I wonder if it's because we have a giant TARGET painted on their food source :p

Oh, BG, please don't feel sad about the past. There is a really lovely saying about accepting things just the way they are here and now.
Yesterday's history,
Tomorrow's a mystery,
Today is a gift for god and tha'ts why it's called the present!
Learning from history is what life is about. Look at the things you would like to do differently the next time around and move forward. We women are the ones who are good at doing this-men still have a lot to learn from history (think war)!

Those reasons were part of the reason I continued with breastfeeding when I was about to chuck in the towel. Towels. Repeatedly.

Mother guilt also played a part. But for THOSE reasons.

Boobies rock! Well, wibble. Even when I've stopped moving :o

Wibbling! I remember wibbling. Mine used to do that too. Until they gave up altogether and now they just sway. :o

To be fair, it's probably the flab that's wibbling as they merely sway and encourage the wibble. Alas, when my nipples aren't staring down my son's throat, they are staring at the carpet.

Oh Beanster, me too. Me fricken too. Both times, with both kids, I actually put on more weight in the months after they're born, that I did during pregnancy :o Breastfeeding makes me really really hungry.

Although, now that I'm trying to lose some weight, they tack on 500 calories to my daily allowance because I'm full-time breastfeeding.

I just sent that list off to ma mum- she loves that kinda stuff just as much as I do..

Thanks for posting such a great link!!

I'm with ya on the issues with no.14 also. This appetite is insatiable. I'm eating enough to feed an entire nicu (now there's an idea!) Wish there were one of those donation clinics around here!

this is why at 19mths ben is addicted to boob and at the moment i cant bring my self to wean

and since breast feeding i have a new party trick i can throw my boobs over my shoulders and tie them in a pretty bow (well they feel that way anyways )

At 20 months my little fella ej loooooooooves booby, i have thought of weening but then i now i will miss it and the way he looks at me with such a look of god mum this is the best thing in the world!!

This is the longest i have ever breastfed and have enjoyed it and i am so glad i stuck it out during the very difficult stages and sometimes feel guilty that i stoped early with my other children:crying: but i was young, but one thing i no this journey has been the best time of my life, even though my boobs hang to my belly button:yes: i can,t wait to do it all again :fingerscrossed:
